My grandpa was quietly preparing me for life. Now the advice seems so loud.

Anybody else still dissecting and cherishing the wisdom spoken to you?

Auntie helps push to release fear and step into your next season.

2. Start With Yourself, Emma Grede

3. Atomic Habits, James Clear (reread)

4. No Bad Part, Richard Schwartz, PhD

A gentle way to understand your inner world and heal from the inside out.

5. The Palette Within, Ayana Gibbs, MBChB & Stephanie Ozuo, PhD

Things that made life a little bit easier this week ✨💭 by @goldencrownconvos

Preparing to never be prepared? 😂 Makes complete sense.

My grandfather’s birthday falls just one week before mine. Growing up that made this time of year feel extra special. Now it makes it feel both — joyful and tender at the same time.

Episode 2 of Golden Crown Conversations is my way of celebrating him. His life. His lessons. Everything he poured into me that I’m still unpacking as an adult.

Grief doesn’t only come from death. Sometimes it walks right alongside celebration. And both deserve a space.

I shared things in this episode I’ve never said out loud before. And I recorded it for everyone who has ever loved someone so deeply that losing them changed the shape of your whole life.

Let’s talk Christmas in August?! 🏖️🎄

Every Christmas my mom made us watch Santa Claus Is Comin’ to Town! 🎅🏾

There’s a song in it — “Put One Foot in Front of the Other.” For years I thought it was just a cute cartoon moment.
Then my mom said it every time life got heavy. I could hear her voice like a lifeline in difficult seasons.

She got it from a cartoon. I got it from her. And now I’m passing it to you.

This is how the whole journey gets walked. Just one foot in front of the other 👣

Who gave you the words that carried you? Tell me in the comments.👑💜 by @goldencrownconvos

Boundaries don’t require an argument. 🚫🍵
Say it calm. Say it clear. Say it once.

There’s no room to negotiate.

August 10th marked another year without my grandfather. 🥺

And every year I learn something new about what grief actually is. It’s not a wound that closes, it’s a love that transforms.

It moves from the conversations you can no longer have into the way you carry yourself. Into the words you choose. Into the courage it takes to keep going, even when missing someone feels like too much weight.

He taught me more in his life than I could ever say. And somehow — he’s still teaching me.

Grief is not the end. Whether you’re grieving a person, a relationship, a season, or a version of yourself. It is love finding a new way to live.

Rest well, Papa. Also, your Falcons still losing 🤣

Sometimes life asks you to pause before you can move forward.

The last few months have been full of change.

My daughter and I made the move back home to Atlanta, and honestly... adjusting wasn’t as easy as I expected. Between the move, the time change, and settling into a new rhythm, we were zombies for a month. 🧟‍♀️😅

I had every intention of showing up here, but I also knew I needed to be fully present for this new chapter. For my daughter.

And now...

I finally feel like I’m finding my footing again.

I feel refreshed.
I feel grounded.

This season has reminded me that growth doesn’t always look like constant movement. Sometimes growth looks like resting. Adjusting. Rebuilding.

Thank you for your patience while I found my rhythm again, and I can’t wait to share what’s been growing in my heart!

What season are you currently in—planting, growing, resting, or beginning again? 💛 by @goldencrownconvos
