These 7th graders stopped for a little fun while taking down Halloween decorations on Main Street yesterday! 🤣 by @good_shepherd_school_vt
Today Mrs. Kittredge’s 7/8th grade science students got to look at their very own cells under the microscope!🔬 They followed instructions for making a wet mount slide with cheek cells and dyed them with methylene blue. They were able to view their cells under the microscope at different magnifications and identify the nucleus in each cell. They also were able to view several prepared slides of other human tissues. This lab wrapped up their unit on cells! 🧫🥼🔬 by @good_shepherd_school_vt
🌟 Our 3rd and 4th Graders Making a Difference in Our Community! 🌟 ❤️ Small hands, BIG hearts, and an AMAZING impact! ❤️ Today, our 3rd and 4th graders at Good Shepherd Catholic School had the wonderful opportunity to give back to our community! Together, we collected an incredible 151 boxes of cereal for our cereal drive! 🥣🎉 Our students proudly walked through town carrying our cereal donations to the Northeast Kingdom Community Food Shelf, where they were able to see firsthand how even the smallest acts of kindness can make a BIG difference in the lives of others. ❤️ A HUGE THANK YOU to all of our wonderful families who generously donated cereal and helped make this drive such a success! Your kindness and generosity will help put food on the tables of families right here in our community. Today was about so much more than donating cereal. It was about teaching our students the importance of compassion, generosity, service, and helping our neighbors in need. Mrs Heath and Mrs M couldn’t be prouder of their 3rd and 4th graders for showing what it truly means to put our faith into action! ✝️💙 Cereal boxes, countless acts of kindness, and one amazing school community! 🥣❤️ by @good_shepherd_school_vt

🎃🔬 Pumpkin Science Fun in Second Grade! 🔬🎃 Our second grade scientists had a PUMPKIN-TASTIC Friday! 🎃🍂 We have been learning all about the life cycle of a pumpkin, and on Friday, we took our learning one step further by becoming pumpkin scientists! 🧑‍🔬👩‍🔬 Our students had a blast dissecting pumpkins and exploring all the different parts, from the outer skin and thick pulp to the stringy strands, seeds, and, of course, the stem! But the learning didn’t stop there! We even incorporated some MATH into our SCIENCE! 🔢🎃 Students counted the seeds from their pumpkin halves by organizing them into groups of 10 and 20, then practiced skip counting to discover just how many seeds were hiding inside! It was a wonderful hands-on experience filled with curiosity, discovery, teamwork, and a whole lot of pumpkin goo! 😂🎃 Who knew pumpkins could teach us so much about science AND math?! 🍁🎃 Learning is always more fun when we get our hands a little messy! 🎃🍁 by @good_shepherd_school_vt
Connecting across campuses! Our kindergarten class recently partnered with a career exploration class from St. Johnsbury Academy. The Academy students visited our classrooms to tour the early childhood program, interview our students, and share in some collaborative playtime. It was a wonderful day of connection and learning for both age groups! Building on this new friendship, the Academy students have officially invited our kindergarteners to visit their campus. They have planned a fun-filled morning of activities tailored just for our students, and we are looking forward to a fantastic field trip! 🤩 by @good_shepherd_school_vt
Our trunk-or-treat this afternoon at the GSCS Early Ed Center was a smaller group this year but not small on fun! They had a busy turnout and it was great to see all the costumes 🤩 by @good_shepherd_school_vt
The GSCS PTG snack table at 4 seasons park helps keep trick-or-treaters and their families ready to go with mac and cheese, apple crisp, hot cider, popcorn, donuts, and cocoa for sale by donation! by @good_shepherd_school_vt
From planting the garden last spring to harvesting the garden and de-cobbing the popcorn for our Halloween celebration on Friday! Mrs. Littlefield’s 6th (previously 5th) graders had such an exciting time seeing this project all the way through to the end! 🌱🌽🪏🎃 by @good_shepherd_school_vt
Our Kindergarten through 4th graders went trick-or-treating at the Canterbury Inn today during their Halloween parade. Both the students and residents enjoy this yearly event! 🤩 The students then visited Main Street and Mrs. Taylor’s house for more treats before returning to school. 🍫🎃 by @good_shepherd_school_vt

🎃🍬 Halloween Science Fun in Third Grade! 🔬👻 Our third graders had a blast becoming little scientists this week! 🧪 We experimented with candy corn in different liquids—water, vinegar, oil, and clear soda—to see what would happen! Students made predictions, observed the changes, and recorded their results! It was so much fun watching their curiosity and excitement as they discovered the science behind this sweet Halloween experiment! 🧡🖤 Who knew learning could be so SWEET?! 🍬🎃 by @good_shepherd_school_vt
