I used the book “Speak” by Laurie Halse Anderson because I related to it when I was younger in my journey with art… so this is my own version of the tree from the book. by @grace.3.portfolio
This was a paper cutting project telling the myths and legends of murrells inlet. It includes the legend of the grey man ( a man who visits before hurricanes and if you see and take head of his warning to evacuate your house with be spared) Alex flag ( haunted by the disapproval and disowning of her brother over a lower class man she fell in love with) pelicans in Boston terriers ( a boy was drowning and then heroically saved by one of the two dogs that belonged to the hotel it died a week later due to too much salt water and the other dog followed a week after they are rumored to play outside and make noises but leave nothing but footprints behind) #myths #murrellsinlet #greyman #alexflag #haunted #artist #art #papercutting by @grace.3.portfolio

Representational mascara spool Forging Copper I made a mascara spool to represent how growing up independent can be a blessing and a curse. It also confronts the vulnerability of asking for help. So in creating this the sharp edges of the spool serve as a warning to the loss of childhood that comes with the eagerness to grow up fast and independently. by @grace.3.portfolio
This piece was inspired by my grandfather and his struggle with Parkinson’s disease. The concept was to create something that would enclose the hand and prevent bruising and minimize shaking. He passed while I was creating this piece last year so it developed into a documentation of this struggle and the struggle of Parkinson’s. The design for it was inspired by the nerves in the hand and made out of wire forged and soldered together. 08-30-24 ❤️ by @grace.3.portfolio
