After years of touring, shaking the rafters of venues in disaster-affected communities around the country, ‘Up Armidale Road’ has made it’s stadium debut in front of 21,000 NRL fans at Allianz Stadium for the Sydney Roosters’ 2025 Emergency Services Match. To have been asked to celebrate our first responders in this way is an honour that both Hughie and I will cherish for the rest of our careers.

Thank you to the Sydney Roosters, NSWRFS and NSWRFSA for having us, and for not batting an eyelid when we said we wanted our travelling piano out on the field with us 😂

Up Armidale Road, you will find the extraordinary community of Nymboida, about whom the song is written. We’d like to shout out Ian Casey, Annie Wolf and Al Mulligan, Paul Johnston, the Towns family, Eva Staehelin, Sophie and Emmanuel Ramos, The Sage family and the Clarence Valley Conservatorium whose stirring voices and instrumentation you can hear as part of the performance. Thank you, and all those involved in this project. It was been a joy to see this song and story truly resonate everywhere it goes❤️‍🔥💪

For a while now we’ve been on the road, not just performing but also filming our unique music project that we’re excited to share very soon. Stay tuned- it’s a rollicking visual and sonic celebration of Australia, its diverse communities, stories, characters and unheralded musicians. #upcomingseries #pianopushers #graceandhugh #australianmusic #songwriters #stories #piano #collaboration #australia #thentheworld #outback @_gracehickey by @graceandhugh

I’m going to be dreaming about this show for a while 🤩🥺😱 Thank you to all the music lovers who came out of the woodwork to sell out our first ever “Gig Under The Fig” on Sunday afternoon, and bought over 400 bucks worth of raffle tickets in support of the Krambach Rural Fire Brigade while they were at it!
Playing music in the embrace of the old fig was pure magic✨ Our wonderful band l to r: Mike Raper, Danny May, Scotty Greenaway
Mick Eyb, Declan Hickey
Special mention to our travelling piano, who was happy to be honking out so close to home.

You know that feeling where you’re sitting on top of your piano watching the sun go down, somewhere in the hills around Gloucester, having just driven 7 hours with only a quick stop to repair a busted left tail light on the piano trailer? The air is crisp, you’ve just written a verse and chorus to a new song, and a nice fella with a ute tray full of working dogs is about to stop for a chat about life. You know that feeling?

We just had the most beautiful weekend pushing our piano to country halls in Wallangarra-Jennings and The Risk. Thank you all for coming out, singing out, and making Hughie and I feel welcome with plenty of foot stomping, spontaneity, laughs, delicious food, impromptu musical collaborations and dance breaks. Footage and photos to come! Special thank you to the hall committees and volunteers- particularly Jill at the Risk and Fran at Wallangarra for leading the charge and working with us to put on these two very successful events. You guys rock 🙏 and we can’t wait to come back!
Love, The Piano Pushers ❤️ 🎹 by @graceandhugh

Build it with love and they will come! ❤️‍🩹 Our first, sold out ‘Gig Under The Fig’ was such a cracker. Many kind helping hands brought this one to a glowing reality and we’re so grateful. I fell in a bit of a heap afterwards (damn flu!) but I’m coming good now- thank you everyone for your lovely messages about the weekend, you’ll be hearing from me G xxx by @graceandhugh

We had a blast headlining the sold-out Harvest Moon Festival 2026 ❤️ Congrats to the festival committee, Jane, Rob and Jarred on pulling together such a successful event and for making the band so welcome 🙌 by @graceandhugh
