surprise !!

a while ago, at the beginning of the spring, a last minute unavoidable postponement in the recording of my album gifted my dad and I with some unexpected time - I was already half way to studio and spending the night at home. still feeling very much in the frame of mind to record, Dave blew the dust of his eight track recorder, we made a rickety set up in the kitchen (see pics) and spent a couple of days recording songs that span across the years

we recorded everything live with no overdubs as you will tell from the rough edges

‘Take Your Time’ is up on Bandcamp, and there’s a little more info there about the songs - some I wrote as a teenager some Dave wrote when I was a newborn. you can find it through the link in my bio (it’s also Bandcamp Friday today !!)

hope you enjoy this little rough and ready compilation, I think it’s good fun xo by @graceemorton

some moments from album recording 🫶

just before the summer solstice we made for Lamigo Bay Studios in the very North of Scotland to spend a week recording

so grateful to @elveyannastedman @magnuskramers @lewismclaughlinmusic @jamie_greenmount_lamigobay and my Dad (Dave) for for contributing immeasurably and so thoughtfully to the music xx

and huge thank you to everyone who donated to the crowdfunder/came to a gig/offered words of encouragement and so much LOVE - what a community, this simply would not have been possible without the help of so many

there’s still a couple more wonderful musicians yet to be recorded who will feature on the album, but it will be with you soon xo

come see us perform the album as part of Under Canvas Festival, Inverness @edencourttheatrecinema on 6th August alongside @elliebeatonsong 🤍🤍 by @graceemorton
