Autumn changes to winter. All hallows eve brings in the fireside, story telling, tales of the forest and animals encroaching towards the home. (As can be seen with the wild boar that has been rooting up the garden at the moment.) by @grahamevans_

With Halloween arriving, Graham Evans’ ‘Jardin Hanté’ (Haunted Garden) comes to mind. It’s a repeat pattern that we developed from one of Graham’s original linocuts. This double-sided gift wrap retains the hand-cut character of the block.

Graham trained at Brighton College of Art and the Royal College of Art, and his illustrations have appeared in Penguin Books and The New Yorker. Years spent in Paris brought work with agencies such as Carré Noir, alongside his own wood engraving, lino and collage. A member of the Society of Wood Engravers, he now moves between Paris, Britain and Andalusia.

We’re very pleased to welcome Graham Evans to Art Angels, with his first design for us: Jardin Hanté gift wrap, developed from one of his repeat-pattern linocuts.

Graham graduated from Brighton College of Art in 1987 and went on to the Royal College of Art, and his illustrations have since appeared in Penguin Books and The New Yorker. A move to Paris brought work with design agencies including Carré Noir, while he continued his own image-making through wood engraving, lino and collage. A member of the Society of Wood Engravers, he now divides his time between Paris, Britain and Andalusia, and his work is rooted in a sense of place and a quiet celebration of life.

Double-sided and 500 x 700mm. You can see Jardin Hauté alongside the rest of our gift wrap range on our website — link in bio. by @grahamevans_

Andalusian Still Life.
This collage will be on sale including a number of wood engravings that you will be able to see at the Fry Art Gallery sale tomorrow. All proceeds going to help fund the museums exhibitions space.
The collage was done while living in the southern most town of Andalusia where Tangier and the mountains behind can be clearly seen across the water. We think Europe is an entity on its own, but when one sees the start of Africa just half an hour away we realises we are all part of a whole.
