POP QUIZ: how much do you really know about wine? From deep dives into grapes & regions to the weirder corners of winemaking, this month’s Education Hours are hands-on tastings that invite you to get curious, figure out what makes YOUR palate tick & drink some very good wine along the way. Here’s what we’ve got coming up in November:

🧡 ORANGE WINE 201, Nov 10 at Waterworks
Ready to go deeper down the skin-contact rabbit hole? We’re getting into structure, colour & the question of where white wine ends and orange wine begins. Expect five iconic sips, plenty of questions & a whole new appreciation for just how diverse orange wine can be. Orange wine 101 not required!

🌀 REMYSTIFYING WINE: BIODYNAMICS & WITCHY SHIT, Nov 15 at Waterworks
Fermentation is magic! We’re venturing into the misty world of biodynamics, regenerative farming, the Earth’s ENERGY & the eternal question: should we bury a cow horn?! Expect famous bottles, wild ideas & a deep dive into the stranger side of the natural wine world.

🍇 PINOT NOIR DEEP DIVE, Nov 29 at Waterworks
Why are we all so obsessed with this thin-skinned, temperamental, occasionally wallet-destroying grape? We’re exploring five pinots from the iconic plots of Burgundy to far-flung regions serving up serious deliciousness & value. Let’s talk terroir, price tags & whether you really need to max out your credit card for great pinot noir.

As always, our sessions include free community tickets for BIPOC folks. Book now and get all the info you need at the link in our bio. #gweducationhour by @grapewitches

👀 The Education Hour on party night IS sold out, but we’ve added a second Georgian Education Hour at our Dundas location on Wednesday, November 18th, from 7–8:15 PM for the KNOWLEDGE CURIOUS.

WE’RE GOING TO GEORGIA! The country. 🇬🇪

On Thursday, November 19th we’re taking over the city’s epic Eastern European bar, @dromtaberna for Toronto’s biggest Georgian natural wine party EVER.

We kick off the night with a 75-minute Education Hour on all things Georgian wine: history, geography, qvevri, all the coolest regional grapes & so much more.

Then, it’s a freaking PARTY! 10 Georgian wines by the glass, Georgian snacks by @dromtaberna & a polyphonic musical performance by Ori Shalva (@2shalva) complete with traditional Georgian toasts and snack-sized history lessons. Heck YES. Tickets in bio. We can’t WAIT to see you there! Big thanks to @winesgeorgia for their support bringing this event to life. by @grapewitches

Broad. Crunchy. Chewy. Creamy. Velvety. Spicy. We’re talking TEXTURES!

Join us at Dundas on October 27th for our Textures Education Hour. So much of the experience of a wine comes down to how a glass FEELS & we’re getting into it.

We’ll start with the basics like the impact of acid, alcohol, sugar and tannin, and end with some helpful vocab to nail your ideal vibe.

Join us for this unique and interesting way to better understand your palate and ask for what you want. Along the way, we’ll sip 4 interesting and delicious wines from around the world & touch on topics like vine age, harvest decisions, minerality, soil, vessels, yeast, & flor!

Things we love: wine at home.

Things we don’t love: having to wear multiple layers when you leave the house to go buy said wine. 😩

Well, folks, hold back your tears (and layers) because WE DELIVER. Our website has a selection of 400+ natural and biodynamic wines that we will speedily deliver straight to your door, anywhere in Ontario.

Still can’t decide what to sip? Try our ‘Let us Choose’ option, send us an emaill or pop by the stores to chat with our knowledgable staff. by @grapewitches

It’s the long weekend, and we think you should bring your dog to come see us! Both locations are OPEN, dog friendly, & treat rich. #bringdogs by @grapewitches

Curious about wine? Pull up a chair. Our GW Education Hours are intimate, interactive tastings designed to help you understand wine, discover your taste, & build curiosity and confidence along the way. Each session explores a different corner of the wine world, with 4 delicious sips from around the globe to help tell the story. Here’s what we’re getting into for the rest of October:

🍂 AUTUMNAL EQUINOX, Oct 13 at Dundas
It’s easy to forget wine is fruit first! We’re going back to the vine to explore farming, harvest, climate chaos & the future of wine. Plus the age-old question: what does a winemaker actually do when they’re not making wine?

👀 BLIND TASTING, Oct 21 at Waterworks
Wines with the same soul & vastly different price points… CAN you taste the difference? We’ll find out in a blind tasting exploring what makes a wine great, what makes it expensive, & whether the two are actually connected. Expect surprises, humility & plenty of delight.

🧶 TEXTURES, Oct 27 at Dundas
What does your ideal wine FEEL like? Lean, broad, crunchy, chewy, creamy, velvety? We’ll move beyond aromas & flavours to explore the feeling of wine in your glass. Come ready to taste, feel, understand your palate & figure out your ideal wine vibe.

All sessions include free BIPOC community tickets. Get tickets and all the details at the link in our bio. #gweducationhour by @grapewitches

Welcome to GW October Wine Club, HARVEST edition.

As grapes across the Northern Hemisphere make their way from vine to vintage, we’re getting deliciously geeky about what happens along the way. Pruning! Pressing! Fermentation! Aging! We’re getting into all of it and, most importantly, how these choices (deliciously) show up in your glass.

Think of this month’s packs as the very best bushel of fruits from farmers we believe in. Choose your level & let’s talk harvest. #gwwineclub by @grapewitches
