Climate funds working more closely means more efficient and impactful #climateaction. On the margins of #GCFB46 in Songdo, the GCF Secretariat updated Board members and observers on the Multilateral Climate Funds' (MCF) collaboration in 2026, GCF's year as inaugural Chair.

🤝 @adaptationfund, @cif_action, the Fund for responding to Loss and Damage, @gef_global_environment, and @greenclimatefund are implementing their first joint annual work programme together.

📍 Next stop is #COP31 in Antalya, where the 5 MCFs will share a joint pavilion.

Can you dance better than our new Liaison Officers?🕺 💃

After a week of hands-on learning, new connections (and a few dance moves), GCF's 14 new Liaison Officers from 🇨🇮 🇪🇹 🇬🇩 🇭🇳 🇯🇲 🇯🇴 🇱🇸 🇱🇾 🇲🇿 🇵🇬 🇸🇹 🇸🇧 🇹🇳 🇺🇬 are ready to support their countries in strengthening engagement with GCF. The Liaison Officer placement scheme is part of GCF's Readiness and Preparatory Support Programme, which seeks to build countries' long-term local capacity to address climate priorities effectively. #ClimateAction by @greenclimatefund

GCF’s $25 million financing is scaling climate-smart agricultural practices in Burundi. 🇧🇮

With 80% of Burundians being farmers, this GCF project with @oneacrefund is transforming the sector, moving smallholders beyond subsistence farming. #WorldFoodDay

As GCF’s pioneering #climateaction project under the Project-Specific Assessment Approach (PSAA), its impact shows what more efficient and faster access to climate finance can achieve, especially for underserved countries. by @greenclimatefund

Can a river find its rhythm again? In Mexico 🇲🇽, rural women are helping it happen. 🌱

Local women manage nurseries of 6,000 native plants to restore the banks of the Huichichila River, while community brigades monitor the water, soil, and wildlife returning to it.

This is one of many community-led efforts under RIOS, a $9 million GCF-funded project delivered with @fondomexicano. Backed by national institutions, RIOS shows that lasting #climateaction is built on partnership.

This #RuralWomenDay, meet the women behind the work. 👩‍🌾

What happens when climate finance moves first? 🇹🇻

In 2016, GCF was the first to finance the Tuvalu Coastal Adaptation Project (TCAP), in partnership with the Government of Tuvalu and UNDP.

It worked. TCAP’s results brought in new partners and further financing, the catalytic role GCF aims to play for small island nations.

The project brought together data, coastal engineering, and Pacific leadership. As Pre-#COP31 gets underway, it shows what early climate finance can unlock. #ClimateAction
