I’m crying as I write this.

My mom died 13 years ago today on November 4th 2013. The devil tried to destroy me with that.

And it almost did.

But nothing can separate me from the love of God, and He never stopped chasing me down until He brought me to a place safety again. When my mom died, I lost one of the biggest sources of love I had. And I was searching desperately to fill the hole she left until I met Jesus. Only He has been able to mend this broken part of me. I still hurt, I still miss her, I still long for the moments I’ll never get to have with her. I still struggle with envy as I watch other women with their mothers and wonder why I couldn’t have that and never will.

But I trust God and that He will redeem everything in His time. I trust that He has it all under control. Even when my heart is broken.

So this goes out to my mom Suzanne. She loved sunflowers, gardening, the colors yellow and green, Disneyland and her family. She loved arts and crafts and was very talented and she even dreamt of opening her own creative business. And now I live out her legacy because I’m doing the very thing she dreamed of.

I’ll always love you to the moon and back, Ma. I hope she would be proud of me. 🌙🌻

// HEAVEN AT HOME // this one is “Light of the World” ✨

“You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.” — Matthew 5:14.

I love the silhouette of the trees, rocks and person hiding in the middle. The color palate of this sunset is insane. I was living in Fiji for a short time and dropped everything to run to the beach and get this shot. One of those moments you almost don’t believe your eyes. Right place, right time.

Light of the World — 8×10” $58.50 · 12×18” $85.50 · 16×24” $135, with 10% off through Nov 6. US shipping only right now — $11 / $17 / $23 by weight.

Where in your home would this light belong?

“Be still, and know that I am God” — Psalm 46:10.

// HEAVEN AT HOME // This is “Be Still & Know.”

It’s named after Psalm 46:10, and it’s my reminder that peace is a person, not a place. To keep my gaze on Jesus.

It reminds me of when Peter stepped out of the boat onto the waves to walk on the water toward Jesus. (Matthew 14: 28-31)

I took this in Southeast Alaska on a ferry through emerald ocean water in a glacier-made fjord. I used to see blue whales, otters and seals swimming through this water. It gets the color from glacial silt. I love the sail boat as well as the waterfall coming down the mountain.

Pre-sale through Thursday, Oct 29 (about 6 PM MDT) — 8×10” $55.25 · 12×18” $80.75 · 16×24” $127.50. No code needed; the discount’s already on the page. (now selling 16x24” instead of 16x20”)
