A little context on these snaps:

My Da and I have had a tough couple of years. We didn't speak for a long time. It was really difficult. It affected my relationship with my whole family. I slowly became isolated from them as a byproduct of the fight with my Da. Avoiding him meant I didn't get to see the rest of my family when they got together. I missed them, but I'm also stubborn. In the end, I got some great advice from close friends and some other special people in my life who showed me a new way to frame things in my mind. It took me some time, but I eventually got there. I called the auld bollocks and arranged to meet him. We talked for a long time, got everything out in the open, and made our peace. Holding a grudge is a very toxic thing. It takes it out of you. Makes you sick. Doesn't matter how right you are or think you are. Find a way to let it go. Life's too short. Fuck it, all is forgiven.

These are pictures from a couple of weeks ago. We went out, just the two of us, for the first time in over 2 years. We ate, we drank and we got tattoos. My Da got his first one ever at 65 years old. On his chest no less. He has a scar there from a heart operation he had a long time ago. He hates the scar so he thought a tattoo over it would be the perfect cover. He picked the design himself and got it as a way of showing me he's sorry for what happened. I got one as well. "Check me out, Da". It's a Kojaque lyric from his track 'No Hands'. It's a beauty if you haven't heard it before. Anyway, I thought it would be a nice sentiment now as he was with me and in the future when he's gone. I can look back on the day my old man and I got tattoos together cause as much as we have killed each other down the years, there has and always will be love there. Respect.

My First Covers! 📸🎉

Thrilled to share my very first magazine covers with you all, featured in the latest issue of #HolyShow. I had a blast shooting Jess Raymon and Sam Coll for their piece ‘Toiliterature.’ The challenge? Capturing magic in a pub toilet. The three of us squeezed into the tiniest gents’, snapped like crazy and hoped like mad no one would walk in mid-shoot to use the facilities. Thankfully, we pulled it off!

I also had the honour of photographing Susannah Dickey for her piece 'United Ireland Under Water,' showcasing #ArrayCollective fantastic exhibition at IMMA.

Heartfelt thanks to Brendan and Peter from Holy Show for having me! From IMMA to pub jacks, it was a non-stop buzz running around Dublin with Brendan to make this come together.

If you haven’t checked out Holy Show yet, do it. It's an incredible blend of Irish life, culture, and creativity told through the eyes and words of Irish artists. #covershoot by @gregbyrnephoto

We brought some stickers along to the march for Palestine over the weekend. Thanks to everyone who stopped for a chat or took one away.

Big thanks to @gregbyrnephoto for the killer shots - lovely to have people getting behind what we’re doing and bringing their own eye to it.

Our Gavin Bazunu collection is available at 745.studio until tomorrow, Tuesday 13 October at 7.45pm.
