POSTS STORIES REELS

If you’re seeing this…

there’s a tiny chance this post might completely change your October plans :)

Some of the most important people in my life used to be strangers.
And that still blows my mind a little.
Because sometimes your whole life changes just because someone says:
“wait… wanna come with me?”. YES!!! 🦋

So I think there’s something really beautiful about throwing completely different humans into the unknown together for a little while.
AND THATS EXACTLY WHY I CREATED A TRIP 🧚‍♀️

No wanna-be influencer getaway, or “finding ourselves in Bali” energy.
Just real people, a little chaos, and a proper adventure.

11 STRANGERS, 9 DAYS. IN EAST JAVA, INDONESIA 🤩🌿🌋🌟🧡
• We´ll watch the sunrise over active volcanoes
• and go on a night hike to see blue lava!
• drive off-road through INSANE landscape with 4x4 jeeps
• visit the most mind-blowing waterfalls and super historic temples
• and have a lot of really really good local food - that we also learn how to cook ourselves YEY

But that’s only the adventure part 🤠
Since this trip is mostly about people, culture and connection, we’ll spend a lot of time with the local Pandhalungan community, learn from their traditions, join workshops, and support projects that directly contribute to local education and cultural preservation together with @worldpackers 🤍 HOW COOL IS THAT?!!?

My absolute favorite thing about this is that none of us know each other yet.
And I genuinely can’t wait for you to become my friend ❣️
And yes, maybe this is random.
But maybe in a few months we’ll all sit somewhere in Indonesia laughing about how this post found us…
and wondering what would’ve happened if it never did.

So if that thought makes you smile a little…
comment “JAVA” and I’ll send you the details :)
Or join the WhatsApp Community in my Bio.

📍 East Java, Indonesia
📅 October 4-12, 2026
🫂 10 spots available

#java #grouptrip #traveling #indonesia #community by @gretaamd

If you’ve followed me for a while, you’ll know I have a slight tendency to accidentally end up in VERY random places.
Sometimes it’s a jungle in Thailand.
Then a cow ranch in India, ooooor a football stadium in New York.
Sometimes it’s a random village where nobody speaks my language but somehow everyone becomes family anyway.

This trip is basically that.
A sidequest 🤟🏼
For people who are curious about the world,
who want to hike volcanoes before sunrise or cook food for a whole community.
For people who love meaningful conversations.
And for people who maybe just need a reminder that life can still surprise them.

9 days, 11 strangers, East Java 🌞🌋🧚🏽‍♀️🌟
A weirdly beautiful mix of volcanoes, waterfalls, community projects, local traditions, questionable sleep schedules and the kind of conversations that somehow only happen when you’re sitting on a floor at midnight with people you’ve known for A day.

So goal isn’t really to see things.
It’s to experience them, to feel them and to live them :) AND to get completely out of your routine for a minute.

You don’t need travel experience.
You don’t need to be outgoing.
You don’t need a perfect version of yourself.
Honestly, a decent pair of shoes is probably more important 🤠

The rest usually figures itself out along the way.

And if your inner voice just went:
“hmmmm…”
while reading this…

I think you already know why you’re here 😃

#java #indonesia #grouptrip #worldpackers #sidequest by @gretaamd

HI THERE and welcome to my page ✨

and if you were already here… hi again <3

I want to start sharing more about this crazy little life of mine, so here we go!!!!

Expect HYROX stories, some wild behind the scenes of sporting events, how I somehow always end up in the weirdest situations, the times I trusted the wrong people, took the wrong roads, made impulsive decisions and still ended up with the best stories because of it all.
CAN’T WAIT!!!! 🌟🌟🌟
Thank you all for being part of my story.

Love,
Greta by @gretaamd

Hey hey friends 🫶🏼

It’s Sunday, I just got home from a 10 hour HYROX work shift that started at 5am, was forced to wear an “it’s my birthday” pin all day (which is arguably the worst thing you can do to someone who absolutely DOESNT enjoy being a birthday girl) 💀
and am now celebrating the occasion by lying horizontally on the couch, wondering how early is socially acceptable to go to bed. (I’m dead)

Now, I’m usually not the kind of person to make a birthday post. NOPE.
While some people start a 30-day birthday countdown on their stories, announce the beginning of their birthday month and somehow turn the whole thing into a national holiday- I personally prefer to pretend it’s a perfectly normal Sunday and hope nobody makes me wear a pin. Or starts singing for me 🏃🏼‍♀️

But instead of spending another hour doom-scrolling through insta reels under my huge blankie,
today I somehow ended up scrolling through my photo app.
And looking at all these pictures, I can’t help but laugh at how little has actually changed.
So I do wanna share them.

Not as a birthday announcement (absolutely not), but because today, for once, I actually feel like appreciating how much of myself I’ve managed to keep :))

Same facial expressions, same questionable sense of humour, same curiosity about absolutely everything and apparently the same inability to just take a picture without super-zooming into my face after, wondering if you can see that pimple on my forehead.
And I think that’s pretty cool 🌞

Because I guess growing up doesn’t always have to mean becoming someone entirely different.
Sometimes it’s just about giving the person you’ve always been, a little more room to be herself.
And if there’s one thing these pictures have reminded me of, it’s that little me and current me would probably get along INSANELY well.
Which might actually be my favourite achievement of the past 24 years.

So I hope you all never get so caught up in becoming who you think you’re supposed to be,
that you forget to appreciate who you already are 🫂

Lots of love, always x by @gretaamd

Some places make you feel incredibly small in the most beautiful way.
And I think that’s something I’ve been reminded of a lot lately.

That no matter how much of the world you’ve seen, how many places you’ve been to or how many times you’ve thought you’ve experienced something extraordinary, there’s ALWAYS something out there that will leave you standing completely speechless all over again.

And I LOVE that. 💚💚💚

I love that after all these years of running around the world, I can still stand somewhere with my mouth wide open, wondering how on earth a place like this even exists.

Because the funny thing is, the more I travel, the less I feel like I know about the world.

You’d think it would be the other way around, wouldn’t you?

But every time I think I’ve got a pretty good idea of what’s out there, life casually introduces me to something I didn’t even know I was missing.
And I think that’s why I’ve been struggling to find the words for this trip.

I came here thinking I was about to host another group trip in a new country, explore a couple of cool places and probably collect another questionable story or two :)))
But somehow this whole experience became something I hadn’t quite expected. EVER.

And I WISHHHH I could somehow take everything I’ve been feeling these past few days and put it into a little bottle to share with you 🫂
Because I genuinely don’t know how else to explain what it’s been like to wake up every morning and realise that somehow, THIS IS THE LIFE I GET TO LIVE.

And I really, really hope I never take that for granted.

Anyway, here’s Tumpak Sewu. One of those places that makes you forget whatever you were about to say.

And before anyone asks, yes, my physio specifically told me NOT to hike down slippery waterfalls with a broken foot.
So- here I am! 🤝

WHATS UPPPP PEOPLEEE!!!

Here are some postcards from my first ever @worldpackers.epictrips in Jawa, Indonesia ❤️🌞

I have soooo many memories to share, just need a little moment to process all of this.
It’s funny how sometimes life moves so fast that you barely find the time to look around and realise just how much is happening.

A lot has changed since I last posted here. (what a surprise lol)
So many incredible places, so many people, so many unexpected little turns that somehow led me exactly where I am today.
I’ve been just reminded over and over and over again just how much there is to love about being alive.
Holy shit.

I don’t think I’ve quite caught up with my own life yet. And maybe I will never be able to haha.
So for now, here are only a few little pieces of a week that I’m still trying to find the right words for 🫶🏼

Life really has been a lot lately. But FLIPPING FREAKING GOODNESS, has it been BEAUTIFUL. 🤍
Thank you for living this with me!!!

Love you lots x

Apparently sometimes you really just have to ask.
And last November, that’s exactly what I did 💙

My uni took us to Switzerland to visit some of the biggest sports federations in the world. One of our stops was the World Federation of Volleyball, where we spent half a day learning about Event Operations.

Somewhere during that workshop I knew that this is basically what I’ve been doing for years.
Not under that exact title.
But volunteers, ticketing, logistics, venue management, hospitality, athlete services…
Basically all the little departments I collected over the years suddenly had a name.
Event Operations 💞

So after the workshop I did something very simple.
I walked up and asked if there might ever be a place for me in it.

No application. No open position. No big plan behind it.
Just a tiny “hey, I do this too. And I’d really love to do it with you one day.” 💛
And honestly, I expected absolutely nothing.
Because this is a world federation.
And me? I’m just Greta lol.

I know I’m quite okay at what I do :)))
But I still wondered if this was one of those rooms I wasn’t quite ready to walk into yet.
Turns out, being ready doesn’t mean knowing everything 🫶🏼

This July I got flown to Japan for my first Volleyball Nations League as a Global Event Operations Supervisor for @volleyballworld
PINCH ME.

And somewhere between match days, problem solving, 1000 questions and learning from an INCREDIBLE team,
I realised something:
all those jobs, countries and random career decisions weren’t actually that random :)

You can be moving towards something long before you know what that something is 🌟
Keep doing things that feel right.
Keep collecting the pieces.
Keep talking to people.

And when something makes you think maybe this could be for me… ASK.
Because sometimes the difference between walking past a door and walking through it
is simply having the courage to knock.🫂

@bodenseecampus you opened another world for me.
And Osaka, I couldn’t have asked for a better first event. I’m speechless knowing that this is only the beginning.

Arigatou gozaimasu xx
See you at the beach soon! 🏐🌞 @beachvolleyballworld

Helloooo and Nei Hou again :)))
Sooo… a few of you asked for my Hong Kong recommendations after my last post.
And since I cannot shut up about this city anyway… here we are!! 🌟🇭🇰

Hong Kong and I… we’ve definitely got a thing uhhh.
I’M IN LOVE LOVE LOVE.
It was my third time here in the past 12 months and somehow this place keeps feeling more and more like home, even though I’ve never actually lived here.
It’s super loud, chaotic, insanely busy, and somehow still gives me this weird sense of calm.
I genuinely can’t explain it 🤍

There are SOOOO MANY places I could’ve added to this carousel and narrowing it down was almost painful lol. But I’m sure there will be a part two one day- with places you won’t find on TikTok haha

So if you only gave me 5 days in Hong Kong with you, I’d make you walk SO much. Hehehe.
And it would probably look something like this
🩵💞🧡💘💙💛❤️‍🔥🩷

In case you‘re planning on going, then
1. let me know cause I wanna join 1000%
2. make sure to save this post :))
3. go!!!!!!

and I promise you‘ll never want to leave ❤️

HIIIIIII AMIGOS 🌞

It’s been almost four weeks since my last update WHOOPSIE.
(except for my sumo fight because that one needed no explanation and was a major addition to my CV)

Life has just been… A LOT. As always.
The last time I posted, I had just finished my exams in Constance.
GUYS. I GOT A B IN MY MATH EXAM. HAHAHAHA.
Am I Newton??? Holy Flip.

Then I flew from Zurich back to Hong Kong. FINALLY 🤍
Where I spent a week with old and new friends, explored new places, tried new foods, and somehow that city kept reminding me
what feeling at home can look like.
In the shape of a place.
Because usually, „home“ are people to me.

Next up was Japan, where I spent two weeks working at the Volleyball Nations League as a
Global Event Operations Supervisor. 🫪
My very first event with @volleyballworld
And honestly… it still feels a little surreal that
this is my job.
The team was INCREDIBLE, I learned more than I could’ve imagined, and it felt like one of those quiet little moments where you realise you’re growing into the person you’ve always hoped to become 🥹🥹

(Don’t worry… Japan is getting its own post because I have WAY too much to share.)

Last week I flew to Malaysia to reunite with one of my closest friends, @liv.knz 🫂
We planned to spend a few days in Kuala Lumpur… but of course our plans changed,
and I’m now writing this from the middle of the Bornean rainforest while trying not to get attacked by monkeys.
Basically just another normal week in my life.

So as you can see… Instagram kind of got left behind.
Which is probably a good sign haha.
But now I’m finally catching up!!! YEY 🌟
I MISSED IT!!!

Annnnd before I share everything I’ve learned and experienced over the past few weeks, here’s my favourite moment from my favourite city 🇭🇰
Because this was the first time in months that I truly allowed myself to pause.
No airport. No work. No schedule.
Just a sunset, a friend beside me, and one quiet moment where I could finally breathe, look around, and think
HELL YEAH THIS IS MY LIFE.
And I’m head over heels for it 💘

(also I look like I’m part of the avengers which is pretty cool)

Some places become home.
Others become the reason you find it somewhere else 🤍
For me, Konstanz was always the second one.

I just spent my last week here before another chapter begins. And somehow it feels SO WEIRD knowing I won’t be coming back as a student anymore.
And obviously it still hasn‘t fully sank in.

Only two days ago I finished my very last exam.
MATH. lol omg
My lifelong chronic trauma. 🤡

Four years of studying, countless flights, moving countries, jumping between universities, changing my life about seventeen times… and somehow I still thought leaving maths until the very end was a fantastic idea.
Typical me.

BUT!!! somehow, it couldn’t have ended any better.
I DID IT (ok, I only know next week but #manifesting)
And just like that, another page gets flipped 🫶🏼

I’ve laughed here.
I’ve cried here.
I’ve packed up my life more times than I can count.
I’ve met people who changed me and lost people I genuinely thought would always be around.

The funny thing is… I spent YEARS trying to leave this place before I realised it was quietly opening every single door for me.
Without Konstanz, there would’ve been no South Africa.
Without South Africa, no HYROX.
Without HYROX, no reason to come back to Konstanz.
And without Konstanz, I wouldn’t be boarding my flight to Japan next week to work my first Volleyball Nations League with @volleyballworld.

Insane how the place I kept trying to leave ended up becoming the place that opened the world for me 🫂

What a WEIRD, BEAUTIFUL, EXHAUSTING, HILARIOUS, CHAOTIC 4 years.
And I think I might actually miss this place a little.
Okay, a lot 🥹

But don’t worry, @bodenseecampus
You’re definitely not getting rid of me that easily.
Someone has to keep you entertained 🤠

Love you forever, Konstanz
I see you when I see you.

For a long time I thought confidence came first.
That one day I’d magically become brave enough, adventurous enough or interesting enough to do the things I secretly wanted to do 🤍

Turns out it works the other way around.

Because if I look back at pretty much every decision that completely changed the direction of my life, there was never a moment where I felt ready for it. Nope, can’t remember a single one.

When I first moved to South Africa, I was TERRIFIED.
When I boarded my first solo flight, I was terrified.
When I started to agree to random opportunities, meeting people I didn’t know and showing up in places where I had absolutely no clue what I was doing, I was also terrified.

The funny thing is that I genuinely thought everyone else had somehow figured something out that I hadn’t.
I thought there was a certain level of confidence you were supposed to unlock before doing exciting things.
Like one day you wake up and suddenly feel qualified to live the life you want ?? 🤩

Unfortunately, nobody told me that most people are just winging it.

Including the people who look very confident from the outside.

Including me.

But confidence usually isn’t the thing that gets you started.
It’s often just the little reward waiting on the other side after you’ve already done the scary thing 🌟

And if there’s one thing I wish somebody had told 18-year-old Greta, it’s that you DON’T need to become a different person before you start living life.
You can just start exactly as you are.
And the rest tends to catch up along the way. 🌞

So maybe this is your sign to stop waiting for permission and start the chapter you’ve always wanted to live 🧚🏽‍♀️
(With me :)))) and 10 other beautiful souls out there)

This October, 4-12th
in EAST JAVA, INDONESIA 🌋

If you’re heart started pounding a little faster now, comment “JAVA” or join the link in my bio to start your chapter 🫂
I CAN’T WAIT TO ROCK THE WORLD WITH YOU.
