More about ee portal :

"Multidisciplinary collective ee portal (Elyse & Emilio Portal) has been creating ecopoetic installations, new media works and performances since 2011. Their methods
of working are based in fluid, spontaneous and
vulnerable actions that encompass philosophy, poetry, spirituality, ecology, performance, sound, video, sculpture, painting and craft. They often employ a large old smoky canvas, naturally extracted plant dyes and fibres, cryptic field recordings, feedback loops and alternative energy sources.

They are currently working on an extended art book, sounds are pigments are places, that was recently funded by a multi-year composite grant from the Canada Council for the Arts, and will be released by flask publishing.

Beyond the studio, they enjoy playing with their son, Teo Sol, their greatest work of art."

I’ll be speaking at The Art of Creating Safer Space: Wellness in the Music Industry (📢) In partnership with Unison @unisonfund at the @indigenousmusicsummit today.

When I think of wellness and safer spaces I try to think about it through an intersectional lens that includes ableism. It is for that reason I will be attending the summit wearing my N95 mask and at this talk I will be using my UV light, hepa filter and CO2 monitor. I think it is important that we make music spaces safer for immuno- compromised and disabled folks. In addition, I do not want to get COVID or other airborne illnesses or pass those illnesses on to others.
I wish this burden wasn’t placed on the individual and that our government and communities were doing more to protect us.

If you are interested to learn more about the equipment I am using please DM me. Stay safe out there. (💕)

Proud to share this new track released with @chorusofcourage 🎶 From Chorus of Courage: The debut album “Always By Your Side” by the collective healing project Chorus of Courage is out now! 🌟 This project aims to amplify the voices and stories of survivors, spreading messages of hope, resilience, and unity.

One of the standout songs from this album is “Stronger Than You,” written by @grgritt as a tribute to @whitebearcreative . This song is a testament to the incomparable strength and unwavering self-trust that emerges from overcoming adversity.

Close your eyes, take a deep breath, and let the empowering feel of “Stronger Than You” wash over you. Let this be your anthem for the day, a reminder of your inner resilience and the power that lies within you.
We hope it inspires you to face any challenges with courage and trust in yourself. Together, we are stronger. Always by your side. 💫 #ChorusOfCourage #AlwaysByYourSide #StrongerThanYou 🎵

Being part of @chorusofcourage has been such a powerful experience. I am so honoured. Merci/Miigwetch to @cindydoire and everyone involved. ❤️‍🩹

From• @cindydoire “Meet our amazing allies, @bradbarr216 @cheecheelia @moonfruitsmusic (Alex Millaire) @grgritt @juliantaylormusic

@chorusofcourage involves a musical conversation - a call and response - through song... our steadfast allies, received letters, phone calls, songs and stories from our storytellers and songwriters, and they responded in solidarity, answering with songs that invited us into a dynamic call-and-response dialogue. We move through a musical conversation, coming together through this collective experience.

Thank you, for saying yes to the invitation to be a part of this conversation and for writing amazing songs that truly honour the voices and depth of this project!
🙌🙌🙌”

🐢🏝️ TH👀 Have you listened to Turtle Island Thighs yet?
🐢🏝️ TH👀

I am so happy I got to work with Lacey on this track. Her voice is like a balm for the soul!

Hanging and writing with Lacey felt like medicine. Like a homecoming. We wanted to write something that spoke to our cultures, to our beginnings, and acknowledged that we may have collectively taken a detour but it’s not too late to get back on the right path. That we have all the wisdom we need to head in the right direction. We also wanted to honour the sexiness and queerness that exists in Indigenous cultures that often goes unspoken and unexplored.

Listen to the track wherever you listen to music. Links in my bio if you need them.

Thank you to @ontarioartscouncil, @canada.council and @ontariocreates.

Thank you to everyone who has listened to my album. It is truly appreciated. This album is a celebration of queer and trans love. Trans rights, like so many human rights are under attack right now.
