We get asked all the time… “What exactly is GRIT?” 👀 The short answer? We’re a hybrid training gym focused on building both strength + endurance. The longer answer? GRIT is about so much more than just workouts. It’s learning how to lift heavy, move well, and challenge yourself in ways you may have never thought possible. It’s pushing through hard things. It’s building confidence. It’s proving to yourself that you’re capable of more. At GRIT, we combine strength training and conditioning to help you become a more well-rounded athlete—whether your goal is to get stronger, improve endurance, feel healthier, or simply show up for yourself. You do not need to be “in shape” before walking through our doors. Every workout is scalable. Every fitness level is welcome. No ego. No judgment. Just a community that works hard and cheers loud. 🚨 BIG NEWS 🚨 We’re opening GRIT — a 7,500 sq ft training facility just a mile from downtown Asheboro — and we can’t wait to share it with you. This has been a dream in the making for a while, and it’s finally coming to life. With 18 ft ceilings and tons of open space, GRIT is designed to be more than just a gym. It’s a community-centered spot for functional fitness, strength training, and more. 🛠️ About 70% of the gym will be geared toward functional fitness style training 🏋️‍♂️ We’ll also have legit powerlifting + strength equipment: think belt squat, leg press, deadlift platforms 📅 Plans for run club meetups, Friday Night Lights-style throwdowns, and maybe even a yearly comp 🕓 Open 24/7 with RFID access 💥 A few scheduled classes per day, but open gym access will always be available We’re not just building a gym—we’re building a space that brings energy back to training, whatever your style. 💥 Stay tuned for building updates, pricing info, estimated opening date, and more. MEMBER SPOTLIGHT 🌟 BAILEY One of the best parts of GRIT is watching the friendships and connections that are built along the way, and Bailey is a perfect example of that! ❤️ Bailey shows up, puts in the work, and continues to grow as an athlete, all while bringing such a great attitude to the gym. In her spotlight, Bailey talks about one of her favorite things about GRIT — the hype squad! 😂 The encouragement, friendships, and support from the people around her are what make this community so special. If you know my back injury history then this makes sense to you. There’s a few movements that I just can’t do without a lot of pain and burpees are one of them, but I haven’t found a good substitute (that doesn’t involve a full bend to the floor) that gives the same stimulus. Shoutout to coach Ben for thinking of this! I know it seems silly, but that’s one of the great parts of this style of fitness and this community. Everyone around you wants you to succeed and are willing to be creative to make that happen. Julio and Haley (and team) have built such a positive and community focused atmosphere here at Grit. MEMBER SPOTLIGHT 🌟 MICHAEL SHEPPARD If you’ve ever been to a 5:15 AM class at GRIT, chances are you know Shepp. And if you’ve ever worked out alongside him, you’ve probably spent most of the workout trying to keep up. 😂 Shepp is one of those people who shows up, puts in the work, and lets the results speak for themselves. He’s consistently one of our top athletes, but what we appreciate most is how humble he is through it all. In his spotlight, Shepp talks about the fellowship, accountability, and having a community that pushes you while still letting you go at your own pace. And that’s exactly what we hope GRIT is for everyone. We’re incredibly thankful for the consistency, work ethic, and attitude Shepp brings to our community. Today I completed my first fitness event, Pink Bars & PRs 💗 115 lb shoulder to overhead 170 lb back squat 900-meter row in 4:47 I’m still new to this, but today I showed up, challenged myself, and got to see what I’m capable of. Proud of these numbers and excited to keep getting stronger! (Watch me hit 200 before the end of the year) The best part was being surrounded by so many amazing women. Watching all the girls push themselves, cheer each other on, and celebrate each other’s wins made today so special. So much strength and heart in one place, and I’m grateful I got to be part of it 🏋🏼‍♀️🩷🩷🩷 by @grittrainingco
PINK BARS & PRs 🩷💪 What a morning!!!! There’s something so special about a room full of women cheering each other on, pushing their limits, and coming together for a cause bigger than themselves. Strong women supporting strong women. MEMBER SPOTLIGHT 🌟 IRESGA Iresga has been with us since the early days of GRIT, and getting to watch her grow over that time has been pretty special. It apparently took a friend 3 months to convince her to finally give GRIT a try 😂 but once she did, she loved it from day one. The confidence she has built since then is probably what we love most. When asked what she can do now that she never thought she could, her answer was “almost everything” — and that pretty much sums it up. Iresga shows up, works hard, is always willing to be pushed, and has become such a big part of what makes our community what it is. She said GRIT feels like family, and we hope she knows she’s a big part of that family too. ❤️ We’re incredibly thankful you took a chance on us, Iresga.
