In jewellery retail today, luxury is no longer defined by scale or spectacle alone, but by how thoughtfully a space allows people to engage, reflect, and connect. Across our recent projects, we have been consciously re-evaluating what it means to design for legacy jewellery retail environments in a contemporary context. At the Abhishek Zaveri store in Ahmedabad, the layout draws from the cadence of gallery spaces, guiding visitors through layered zones of display and dialogue. For Khanna Jewellers in Gurugram, the focus shifted to cultivating intimacy within a generous footprint. Guided pathways and private lounges support conversations that unfold with ease, allowing trust to become central to the retail journey. In Ludhiana, the design for Khurana Jewellery House balances familiarity with refinement. Symmetry, crafted mouldings, and carefully composed display counters establish clarity, while material contrasts lend depth without overwhelming the collections on view. Collectively, these stores signal a larger shift within Indian jewellery retail, towards environments that prioritise narrative, comfort, and human connection as luxury. At groupDCA, we see retail not merely as a backdrop for transactions, but as immersive experiences where legacy and contemporary living find meaningful alignment. Large urban housing developments often struggle to balance density with liveability—where scale overrides context, and comfort becomes an afterthought. At Primarc Aadvika, the brief was approached differently. Located on the banks of the Hooghly River, overlooking the Ravindra Setu and Howrah Bridge, the project reclaims a former industrial jute mill site to reimagine housing as a climate-responsive, layered living environment. Building at such a pivotal urban edge brings inherent challenges of privacy, sustainability and openness, all of which informed the design process from the outset. Rather than isolating the riverfront, the planning prioritises long views, daylight, and landscaped edges that both buffer and connect the site to its surroundings. By limiting units per floor and prioritising naturally ventilated homes, the project creates porous and adaptable living spaces that offer calm within a rapidly densifying city. The design remains rooted in context while responding thoughtfully to Kolkata’s rich heritage and evolving urban fabric. In large corporate offices, flexibility and well-being are often compromised by rigid planning and over-reliance on artificial lighting. At Primarc Office, Kolkata, the design rethinks this paradigm by shaping a collaborative workplace that aligns environmental responsibility with everyday comfortand efficiency. Spread across three levels, the layout projects into a central atrium, creating dynamic volumes and visual continuity while organising the floor plate into intuitive functional zones. Workstations are clustered to support varied modes of working—cabins, team tables, lounges, and conference rooms—balanced with acoustic control and ergonomic detailing. A strategic reorientation of seating maximises light from the North, South, and East, reducing glare and reliance on artificial illumination. Expansive windows and locally sourced materials reinforce the project’s connection with its context. At groupdca, we design workplaces not as rigid enclosures but as responsive ecosystems—fluid, sustainable, and attuned to human experience. Our partner and principal architect, Amit Aurora, was part of the 3rd edition of @et.realty’s ET DesignScape Awards and Summit 2026, taking the stage for a candid discussion on “Lessons from Mistakes: What Great Projects Don’t Show on Renders.” The session brought together architects to look beyond the polished final image and reflect on the realities of designing and delivering great projects, the decisions, challenges, missteps and learnings that shape the work long before it appears on a render. Conversations like these are an important part of the profession: sharing experiences openly, learning from what didn’t go as planned, and recognising that every project is shaped by much more than its final visual. #groupDCA #TheETDesignscape2026 #ArchitectureAndDesign #PanelDiscussion by @groupdca
A corporate workspace in Dubai shaped by the interplay of materiality, light, and context. Rich wooden finishes bring warmth to the interiors, balanced by glass surfaces and geometric screens that filter daylight. Floor-to-ceiling windows connect the workspace to Dubai’s skyline, bringing the surrounding city into the interior experience. Contemporary art, mid-century furniture, and sculptural ceilings add character, while carefully considered details create a cohesive design language. The result is a workplace that balances focused work and collaboration through thoughtful material choices, natural light, and a strong connection to its surroundings. #OfficeDubai #CorporateDesign #OfficeDesign #groupDCA #WorkspaceInnovation by @groupdca
The L’Oréal Regional Office in Kolkata, has been featured by @biltrax_media. Spanning 8,175 sq. ft., the workplace was planned around spatial equity, bringing daylight and access to shared spaces throughout the office. The 52 workstations are organised alongside meeting rooms, breakout areas, and collaborative spaces, supporting different modes of working. A restrained material palette, considered planning and visual connections across the office create a setting that is functional, adaptable and comfortable for everyday use. The construction of Twin House brings the architectural vision closer to reality with every stage of development. As the structure takes shape, the facade begins to reveal its character through a warm stone palette, an arched entrance, proportioned windows, and generous balconies. Each element is carefully developed to create a balanced composition that feels cohesive and considered. From the structural framework to the finer facade details, the process reflects the importance of material selection, precision, and craftsmanship in shaping architectural expression. Every detail contributes to a residence where design intent and thoughtful execution come together. #ResidentialDesign #MaterialPalette #Lighting #groupDCA #Architecture by @groupdca

A bronze Nataraja in hand. Behind it, carved screens that took a craftsman’s lifetime to understand. The proportions aren’t accidental; they’re inheritance. When we designed this flagship for Harit Zaveri, we understood one thing: the jewellery doesn’t need space to compete with it. It needs the space to listen. The bronze vessels, the wood frames, and the way light catches the jewellery in your hand. Every decision here is about restraint in service of something precious. The space has learned that luxury is the confidence to let others shine. The room doesn’t display jewellery. It holds it. It honours both the piece and the person discovering it. Built in Surat and rooted in craft, the store’s design reflects the history, skill, and artistry that shape the world of jewellery. #JewelleryRetail #IndianCraft #RetailSpaces #Surat #groupDCA by @groupdca
In jewellery retail, the façade is an important part of how a brand presents itself. It creates the first point of connection with the street while setting expectations for the experience inside. At Anand Jewels, a patterned stone façade, and a dark stone frame around the glass entrance create a distinctive storefront. TBZ features clean geometric forms, contrasting finishes, and vertical accents for a contemporary expression. Mirwah combines glass, clean lines, and a restrained material palette for a sleek, modern storefront, while Khurana Jewels features intricate metalwork, decorative detailing, and warm lighting to create a more ornate, traditional entrance. Though different in expression, all these projects reflect groupDCA’s approach to retail architecture: using materials, proportions, and details to create a distinct identity for each brand. The result is a storefront that does more than mark an entrance. It communicates the brand’s character and shapes the customer’s first impression. #JewelleryDesign #RetailArchitecture #FacadeDesign #ArchitectureDetails #groupDCA by @groupdca
A closer look at the fabric selection process for a new residential project at our studio. With a range of colours, textures, patterns and finishes laid out together, the selection process is about understanding how individual fabrics work alongside one another and within the larger material palette. Samples are compared, shortlisted and refined to find the right balance of texture, tone and character for the spaces. It is a small but important part of the design process, where material choices begin to shape the project’s atmosphere. #groupDCA #DesignProcess #MaterialSelection #FabricSelection #ArchitectureStudio by @groupdca
Terracotta tones, brick tiles and warm beige textured walls establish a distinctly Indian palette. Carved teakwood shelving, matte black metal accents and touches of Udaipur green marble introduce a considered interplay of materials, bringing together traditional craft and contemporary detailing. The result is a material language that feels rooted in the character of the traditional mithai shop, yet distinctly contemporary. by @groupdca
