🍃✨The sunroom got a little more whimsy! Sometimes it’s the little touches that make a space feel magical 💚✨ And yes, even the hubby was into the whimsy! 😂❤️

OK, DON’T COME AFTER ME…😂🪴

After shopping at THREE of my favorite local plant shops (@sunnyside.plants, @chica_plantshop, @catalinaplantco) this past weekend, here’s what I do when I bring new plant babies home. And fair warning…I have some HOT TAKES! 🙈

1. I UNPOT MY NEW PLANTS IMMEDIATELY😬
I know, I know! Most people recommend letting plants acclimate first, but I like to inspect the roots, check the soil, and see what’s going on beneath the surface before deciding what they need 🪴

2. I DON’T ISOLATE NEW PLANTS 🙈
Yes, I know. It’s highly recommended to quarantine new plants BUT I simply don’t have the space! I could use my dark utility/furnace room, but I think I’d do more harm than good. LOL!

But before you clutch your pearls, I do have a VERY strict pest-prevention routine before they join their siblings AND while they acclimate in their new home. I know I’m taking a risk either way! BUT… that’s just how I roll! 😂🌿

I CAN’T POSSIBLY BE THE ONLY ONE, RIGHT?! What are your unconventional plant-care habits?

And a HUGE SHOUT OUT to my three favorite local plant shops HERE IN CHICAGO for enabling my obsession! 💚 Tim & Ann @sunnyside.plants, Erica & Jorge (&Zion) @chica_plantshop, and Chris @catalinaplantco, you guys are the best!!! Fellow Chicagoan, go see them (and take me with you)!😛 Each of these shop owners are amazing people! 🫶💚👏

DID YOU KNOW?! Those little bulbs on your Maranta’s roots are tubers! 🪴💚 They store energy and nutrients. They also help your plant power future growth and bounce back from stress. I love the science behind these beauties 💚 Simply amazing! 🤩🌿

MEET MY ANTHURIUM PALLIDIFLORUM! 😍🌿 Those long, strappy, shimmery leaves that feel so deliciously velvety…I simply can’t get enough of her! 🤩💚

But my favorite part? She’s native to my beautiful country of Ecuador! 🇪🇨🥹 Having her in my home feels like keeping a little piece of my roots close to me 🌿💚

So today, I’m just a girl, having fun, growing plants, and remembering my beautiful family in Ecuador 🇪🇨🥰🪴💚

I know I’m not the only one, RIGHT?! 😭🙋🏻‍♀️🤣😅

Some plants are a big fat YES! 😍💚 But even the best of us have our “NO, NO, NO, NO!” moments in plant parenthood! 😂🤦🏻‍♀️🪴😅

This is what my staff, my clients, and I walk into every day…a full-on GREEN JUNGLE! 🌿🌱🪴Studies on plants and green spaces have found that being around greenery can be associated with:

🌿 A more pleasant and comfortable work environment
🌿 Better focus & concentration
🌿 Improved mood
🌿 Increased feelings of calm

So basically… I’m just providing a wellness experience with an insurance policy attached 😂😂

Come say hi and enjoy the jungle! 🪴💚

WINTER IS COMING, AND THE SUCCULENTS ARE MOVING INTO THE OFFICE (no space at home) 🤦🏻‍♀️😂🥶

But first…they’re getting the full spa treatment because mama does NOT need any unwanted guests! 🙅‍♀️🐛😂

✅ Pest treatment dunk
✅ A good spray-down
✅ Settled in under the grow lights

And of course, big shout-out to my partner in crime @louie_merced! Couldn’t have done it without his muscle 💪💚✨

When you get home late and see a package waiting, you assume it’s one of your Amazon orders 😂📦 Imagine my surprise when I opened it and found the CUTEST little planter from my beautiful cousin in Puerto Rico! 😍🪴

And of course, I immediately found the PERFECT plant for it! 💚 I mean, CAN IT BE ANY CUTER?! 😍🥹And she said there’s MORE coming?! I’M DEAD!!! 😂😭💚🫶

Damary, you are pure sugar and the most positive, loving person I know! 🥰❤️ I’m so lucky to call you family! Love you to pieces! 😘🫶💚
