🌱✨ The Crescent Village Community Garden is a space where all are welcome to plant, learn, and grow together, a true community hub for connection and care.

This garden space was created in loving memory of Allan Joseph Cox, a community champion. His legacy continues to inspire us every day and lives through his family💛

A thank you to @growingwithnatalie and her amazing garden team, along with our partners @desjardinscoop GoodSpark Fund, @myrichmondhill Community & Cultural Grant and @farmacyforlife for making the Grow Forever project possible.

“Giving back to the community…or did the community really give back to me this summer? The little kids, the little hugs I got this summer, did probably way more for me than anybody else.” - Natalie, Manager of the Crescent Village Community Garden with support from @myrichmondhill & @desjardinscoop by @growingwithnatalie

A garden for all🪴🙌🏽

We were honoured to welcome Mayor @davidwestrh to the Crescent Village Community Garden! Thank you for supporting this project and celebrating with us! by @growingwithnatalie

We’re taking a rest day.
Rest is important. I’m guilty of waiting until I crash and burn sometimes. Or I’m forced to rest because my body says “NO”. The past few weeks was were emotionally taxing. I lost my friend. Then I threw myself into work, shoveling a yard of soil and planting garlic. Yesterday my body said “NO”.
So today we must rest.

It’s garlic planting season! So far I’ve planted over 30 lbs with another 15 to go. Are you growing your own garlic? Have any questions?

Nature is wild sometimes. I just meet it where it’s at. And at the end of the day I’m just an overaged kid. For the record it was @artisianaliya who pointed out this tomato’s assets.

Today was our first seniors gardening workshop of the season. It was the perfect day to stroll through the garden. We harvested some vegetables and sipped on tea from the garden plants. Of course we had snacks.

Today we baked the Chicago Public School Butter Cookies. These have been a favourite among the girls. Give a girl a cookie she will eat for the day. Teach a girl to make her favourite cookies and she’ll eat all her days. We also did a mental health check-in and shared where we’re at and how we’re doing. They show up so I show up. Also… they’re very interested in sourdough! So I’m adding it to our schedule. We had over a dozen girls show up, which was fitting since they each got a dozen cookies 🍪 💕

These two are certainly living life like it’s golden. Every day lol. Morning garden rituals: listen to the birds, wait for hummingbirds, ignore the bees, and soak in the sunshine. Good morning!

When you touch road so early you’re eating cherries at home by 4:30. Ticking boxes and running through the 6ix with my girl. Ayyy Band of the year again! Congrats @torontorevellers
