Season 7 Episode 8 Teaser | Starlight 🎣

I’m hitting the water with Leiza Fitzgerald for an action-packed day of fishing, and we've got plenty in store! From working the offshore reefs to making our way inshore for some Snook and Redfish action, we're adjusting to the conditions and taking advantage of every opportunity.

Leiza also brings an incredible story and a passion for growing the sport, especially when it comes to getting more women involved in saltwater fishing. We've got some great fishing and conversation coming your way in this one!

Season 7 Episode 8 | Starlight drops this Thursday at 12:00 PM! 🎥

O Dark Thirty in New Smyrna Beach 🎣🌅

The best way to beat the early morning traffic? Leave at O dark 30! 😂 We got the crew up bright and early and made our way to New Smyrna Beach without hitting any traffic along the way.

Getting out early is just part of the deal, but once we're on the water, it's all about reading the conditions, trusting the local knowledge, and making adjustments as needed. You never know what the day will bring, so you have to be ready to make the most of every opportunity!

That’s a Keeper! 🦞🌴

Now that’s what we’re looking for! Spotting these lobsters in the dark takes a good eye and a little patience, but when you find a keeper like this, it makes the effort worth it. We were getting the hang of it and starting to put a few in the bag!

Nighttime lobster hunting in Miami is a whole different kind of adventure, and this is exactly why I love getting out there and trying something different. 🎣

Night Fishing in Miami 🌙🎣

There’s something different about being out on the water after dark. We were making the most of every opportunity we had, staying on the move, and seeing what we could get to bite.

Fishing doesn’t always go according to plan, but that’s part of the fun. You keep adjusting, stay ready, and make the most of the time you have out there!

Finding the Hot Spot 🎣🌴

Out here, you never know exactly what’s on the other end of the line! I wasn’t convinced we had a tarpon, and we were still trying to figure out what was hanging around. One thing was becoming clear, though—that corner was holding fish!

Now, if I could just get over there and reach the spot! 😂 Sometimes finding the fish is only half the battle. Getting your bait where it needs to be is a whole different story.

When the Game Plan Changes 🎣🌴

We headed out after dark hoping to find some tarpon, but the bait had other plans. Sometimes fishing doesn’t go exactly how you expect, so you have to be willing to switch things up and see what else the night has in store.

That’s part of the adventure—you make adjustments, stay flexible, and keep looking for the next opportunity. You never know what you might find out there!

You Never Know What’s on the Line 🎣

You think you’ve got something good coming your way, and then you finally see what’s on the other end! 😂 We were hoping for tarpon, but this time a snapper had other plans. And with expensive crab for bait, you better believe we were hoping for something a little bigger!

That’s fishing for you. You never really know what’s going to show up when you’re out there after dark.

Miami After Dark 🎣🌴

We’ve done tarpon trips in the winter before, but this time we’re switching things up and heading out after dark in Miami. Fishing at night brings a whole different experience, and I was looking forward to seeing what we could find out there.

Sometimes getting out of your usual routine and trying something different makes for the best adventures. This was just the beginning of our Spines & Spots trip!

Season 7 Episode 7 Teaser | Spines & Spots 🎣🌴

Miami after dark… I’m not sure you can ask for a better setting for a fishing adventure.

I met up with my buddy Captain Nestor, and he had a full day of fishing and exploring planned. We knew we were going to spend some time on the water, but I had no idea just how much this trip was going to have in store for us.

From the lights of Miami to whatever we could find swimming beneath them, this one was definitely different.

Season 7 Episode 7 Teaser | Spines & Spots 🎣🌴

I’m heading down to Miami to meet up with my buddy Nestor, and he’s got a few things planned for us over the next day. We’re going to have some fun, take in the lights of Miami, and hopefully find a few fish along the way.

I’m not giving away too much just yet, but this one turned into a pretty wild adventure. A night on the water, a few different plans, and plenty of opportunities to see what Miami has to offer.

Something tells me this trip is going to be a good one. Spines & Spots drops this Thursday, 10/15 at noon! 🎥

Clear Water Snapper Action 🎣

Looking back on this trip, there’s nothing quite like watching a snapper eat a freeline bait right on the surface. When the water is this clear, you have to make some adjustments, especially with your leader, but when you get it right, it’s a whole lot of fun.

Seeing that fish come up and crush the bait is exactly why I love this kind of fishing. Clear water, light leader, and a fired-up snapper—good stuff!

The Memories We Make 🎣

Looking back on this episode, this is what I love most about fishing. Sure, catching fish is always the goal, but it’s the people you’re with, the stories you share, and the memories you make along the way that really stick with you.

Some days you remember because of what you caught. Other days, you remember because of who you shared the boat with. This was one of those days.
