The former atelier of Jan Custers, an Eindhoven sculptor known for his neo-Gothic church interiors.

The walls and ceilings remain untouched, as if time stood still. A glass box sits within the old space, with an island of rough, solid travertine at its centre. The stone feels as though it is still waiting to be shaped by the sculptor.

Today, the atelier is part of Serendipity Capital’s family office, with a kitchen and tables for meetings and private dinners. A new use, with the old atelier still very much present. by @guydevos

Honoured to share that Guy de Vos Design has been nominated for the Sub-Zero & Wolf Kitchen Design Contest.

A quiet recognition of the level of detail, trust and collaboration that defines each private residence.

For the dining room at Estate DT, I designed an oak lined room that follows the existing architecture while bringing definition to the expansive ground floor. It forms a central point of reference, separating the kitchen from the two living spaces.

At Serendipity Capital, a circular space forms the heart of the family office. The bar follows its curve, with solid travertine on one side and a sofa on the other.

Above, a linen canopy around the central column softens the sunlight entering through the glass roof and illuminates the room in the evening. Timber floorboards, cut radially, follow the same geometry underfoot. by @guydevos
