Escape to Green Valley Lake! Well-stocked with trout bi-weekly May to October, we're also the highest elevation resort town in Southern California.

How do things work at Green Valley Lake as the season is coming to an end? 👀 ❄️🌨️ If you have newly discovered our lake, recreation is seasonal at GVL. Our swim beach is only open from Memorial Day through Labor Day weekend.🥶Our boat rentals are open from early May through the last weekend of September. Shore fishing runs from early May (weather permitting) through end of October. If you are a shareholder with a boat on the lake, please remove them by October 31. We are the highest-elevation community in Southern California and winter hits us hard. 🌨️ In the month of October, as winter begins to set in, we offer only basic services and will still collect fishing access fees. The public restrooms are closed for the season (we store kayaks and pedal boats in that building), but we have two porta-potties located around the lake. We will also have trash service through the end of the month. We will keep the fish cleaning station open as long as possible, until temperatures drop below freezing and we have to turn off water lines. Our last stock of the season was September 25 of 1500 lbs of trout; folks are still catching right now but eventually will fish the lake out. What happens after October 31? There are no more services in town and we close to public fishing until next May. We recommend going to fish at Lake Gregory in Crestline for alpine fishing during our off-season. They are located 2000+ feet lower than us and are just getting started stocking trout; they also have year-round services. Now, time to ski is coming! ⛷️🎿❄️ #winteriscoming #greenvalleylake #abovetheclouds by @gvlrecreation

Well, we had another ✨fantastic✨ tournament this morning - much fun was had!!!😍Thanks to everyone who came out today to support our lake, to our amazing sponsors for their donations, to Jess Ranch and CADFW for stocking, and to our staff and board members for working hard to put on yet another cool event! Our fishermen caught some real beauties today!! 🐟🎣🐟🎣🐟Congratulations to Alfonso, Fausto, and Aiden for bringing home the cash prizes and trophies for the top 3 fish! 🏆And a special shout-out to Paul S. for taking home the President’s Pass, which will get him free fishing at GVL throughout the 2027 season! In addition to winning our first tournament, he participated in all four tournaments this year and totaled 6+ lbs weight when combining his heaviest fish from each tourney. Thanks again to all the participants today who turned out to show GVL some love! 💙 There are still lots of lovely fish in the lake, and several tagged fish waiting to be caught! You know what to do! 😉✨And tomorrow is last day for boat rentals… 🚣🏻 #trouttournament #greenvalleylake #abovetheclouds by @gvlrecreation
