🌳🌸✨sunrise on the hilltop, beneath the trees. ✨🌸🌳 very rarely do I make cakes for myself. I don’t spend time fussing with colors or design if it’s just for me. I was granted the opportunity to do just that, for something fun. this cake is certainly me. 💞such joy vanilla buttermilk cake, earl grey syrup, roasted strawberry jam, turmeric honey smbc . . . . . . . . . #cake #eaterchicago #pastry #infatuationchi #chicagofoodmag #chicagogram #swissmeringuebuttercream #chicagoeats #cakedesign #microbakery #microbakerychicago #chicagobaker #patisserie #chicagobakery #chicagofoodie #chicagofoodauthority #chicagomakers #chicagoeater #chicagolocalvendor #chicagomakers #chicagocakes #chicagocustomcakes #cakesofinstagram #cakedecorating #cakeoftheday #chicagofood #cakeart #artcakes by @halfbirthdaychi

🍂aggressive, natural, beautiful🍂 In February, while noodling around a farmers market in Joshua tree, I tried dried persimmons for the first time. I bought four lbs and packed them into my carry on. The prompt for this cake was “Loving cakes out of Berlin. Aggressive, natural, beautiful.” I couldn’t wait to incorporate the persimmons into this cake. This was in February, so even after digging through notebooks I can’t find the flavor combination. No doubt it was eccentric and delicious. Thank you for a perfect prompt Megan.
