A little bit of magic, captured through the lens of the incredibly talented @devereuxxo 📸✨

There’s something truly special about working with someone who not only has an extraordinary eye for photography, but also knows how to bring out the very best in the person standing in front of the camera.

A massive thank you to @devereuxxo for sharing your time, creativity and talent with me. It was an absolute pleasure working with you, and I couldn’t be happier with what we created together.

Brisbane certainly has some incredible creative talent, and Joel is undoubtedly one of them. 🖤

Forever grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with such wonderful people. 🙏✨ by @devereuxxo

It’s a little hard to see properly due to the terrible lightning but we finally started working on this capture this morning (long overdue) still quite sloppy but we should have it dialled in by the end of the week! After this we only have 3 more foundation moves to cover and we have all the basics down!! Obviously still need to keep drilling some of the moves to make them cleaner and then I think I want to start diving into the off-body deep end 🥳🙌 9 months in and we are still falling more and more in love with this prop as each day goes by 🥰 by @devereuxxo

Still need to work out the settings on this new gimbal and get our exposure dialled in but the fire spinning is coming along! 🙌✨✨✨ by @devereuxxo

Burn 2 was a roaring success!!! (Other than my terrible videography — I promise I have a Gimbal on its way 🫣😂)

Highly recommend @juggling_calling if anyone out there is looking at buying fire props in the future! This thing is so well made and the spliced tether really goes the extra mile in terms of comfort and durability!

I do feel like I could slow it down a little for more impressive flames and so that I don’t accidentally spin an end out prematurely because I’m rotating it so fast 😂👎

Buttttt other than that I am really happy with how my fire spinning is coming along 🥳🙌 by @devereuxxo

Eight months into this wonderful journey… and we finally had our first burn!! 🔥🥹

Part of me feels like I could’ve gotten further in eight months, but injuries and time management haven’t always been allies. I’ve also spent the last month or two drilling what I already knew rather than chasing new moves, because I wanted to feel comfortable before putting this thing on fire. 😂👎

Perfectionism aside, I think we’re doing alright for eight months into our first prop. 😇🙌

There were definitely lessons from burn #1. I don’t think I soaked the wicks long enough, and I completely forgot to wet my hair… so we may have sacrificed a few strands to the fire gods. 😂🔥 But it’s all part of learning. We kept things simple, stuck to familiar movements and walked away uninjured — I’m calling that a win.

Somewhere along the way, puppy hammer stopped being just a hobby and became something much more. It’s my reset button, my quiet place, and a way of letting everything else disappear for a while. No matter what I’m carrying, I can pick it up, start spinning, and somehow the world gets quieter. ❤️‍🔥

Most importantly, I owe some huge thank-yous:

🔥 @wushu.coiled — your Earth Frequency 2025 fire jam performance was the first time I’d ever seen a puppy hammer. Your distance management and those enormous arcs over people’s heads absolutely blew my mind. That performance started all of this.

🙏 @zack_nope — your Patreon, tutorials and personal support have been invaluable. I wouldn’t have learned half as much without you.

❤️ @charlie.plays.oxbow & the @oxbow.community.hub — thank you for the knowledge, answers, discussions and incredible community that have helped me grow.

🫶 @lanternsmith — thank you for my first practice hammer. I’ve put that poor thing through eight months of abuse and still love it like a child. 😂🙏

🔥 @juggling_calling — thank you for my beautiful fire hammer. The care and attention to detail are obvious, and finally getting to light it was incredibly special.

10 months ago I saw someone spinning a puppy hammer on fire and thought, I need to learn that.

After weeks of non-stop dieting and training it is finally shoot day! I’ve spent the last few weeks recording all of my craziest cravings and it’s nearly time to finally indulge in all of them 😂🙌 #doasisaynotasido by @devereuxxo

First spin with my new fire hammer! It’s definitely going to take some more getting used to before I light it up as the extra weight and drag is infinitely different to my ovo hammer but it shouldn’t take too long! First burn coming soon 😁🙌 (apologies for the terrible@camera angle we were in a bit of a rush this morning 😅) by @devereuxxo

Haven’t had as much time with my hammer as I would have liked recently, but regardless we are still putting in work whenever we can 😁🙌 by @devereuxxo
