Happy Halloween.

Making my girl a new bed.

Sometimes they don’t sell what you want. Or it’s just too damn expensive. So we wing it.

Azeli is 9 months old today. 🌞🌒
We made another fire in the kiln,
grumped a bit
(full family participation)
made Halloween stuff,
took photos we didn’t get her to smile for
(love it),
and ate tacos.

Steps towards settling back into quiet after months of guests. by @handandfire

Gathering water. The time for water heated on the stove. A kettle to humidify + make hot drinks. A bucket to wash hands.

I have new videos coming in the next couple days.
The making of a new bed for Azeli, the building of my primitive earthen kiln, another adult sized sheepskin vest…

A new project!! We made a primitive earthen kiln yesterday. Something that’s been in the works for four years, and finally completed. We are burning out the interior grasses and sticks today to fire the kiln, then I can make some pots to fire.

A fun little side project for my mom @titas.leather’s sale this weekend.

Thought you might enjoy watching along.

Good night. ✨ by @handandfire

One of those spaces I love so much but don’t share too often: the area right outside of my studio door.

We built this awning from trees in our woods, salvaged metal roofing we replaced after the tornado, and granite from the river.

A pretty new duvet in time for cozy season.
This time of year we spend a lot of time snuggling in to our home. Time for soup, sitting next to the woodstove, and climbing into bed.

Let me know if you want the link. 🤎
