POV: Everything we ate at our wedding!

As true foodies, we wanted to have 10 courses, that symbolize not only 10 years of marriage, but our love story through food.

When we started working with @d.concierge 18 months ago, he instantly got our vision. He knew @bitesbybeehouston was THE ONLY woman for the job, finding out we had already been following her work AND Brittany’s and Joy’s birthday are the same day, we knew it was meant to be!

Course 1: Asian style Chicken Lollipops & Noddles (NYC dates & Nuseum in DC)
Course 2: A Seafood Boil Martini (HTX)
Course 3: Oyster Bar (Raw & Chargrilled Live Nola/ HTX)
Course 4: Lobster Rolls (chilled the Wharf DC)
Course 5: Caviar chips w/ crème fresh & chilled champagne (Phoenix, AZ Baecations)

Still on a HIGH!!! Hot Girl Summer is coming to a close and I couldn’t imagine ending it ANYWHERE else.

Though it felt like Uncle HOV was calling us P***y in the lowest to mid level of keys with that 4hr delay 🕵🏽‍♀️🥹🤦🏽‍♀️ and the DJ tried to distract us up with songs Back that Azz up and got Boo’d 🫠😂🤷🏽‍♀️ The New Yorker in me is STILL popping her shit & The BIG BRONX energy in me is Beyond Validated!

We truly experienced a part of history and seeing the evolution of Jay Z is beyond inspiring and fills you with a sense of pride. He is EXACTLY who TF he says he is 🙌🏽🐐

Now gimme like 3-5 business days to recover before rolling out these recaps and in the meantime don’t yall EVER forget…

They saw the event. They didn’t see this part.

“The Rise Up” started as a Women’s History Month dinner for 50. We ended up damn near standing room only.

But what mattered wasn’t the turnout—it was the intention behind the room.

I didn’t want another panel where women are talked at.
 We built a space where women could talk with each other—sharing real experiences around entrepreneurship, wealth building, and navigating systems that weren’t designed for us.

The room spanned women 28–50 across industries, backgrounds, and financial stages—but the throughline was the same: we’ve all had to push through something.

There were laughs, there were tears, and there was real-time problem solving happening at the table.

Even down to the details—everything was intentional.

We partnered with @dot.cards because I wanted women to leave with a smarter way to connect—no lost business cards, no awkward “do you have a pen?” moments. Just tap and you’re in.

@topochicousa kept the room refreshed (with and without alcohol), integrated into the experience in a way that felt natural—not forced.

That’s always the goal: brands don’t interrupt the experience—they belong in it. This is what happens when you center community and build with intention, not just optics.

The Oxtail Bara — Chef’s kiss 👩🏽‍🍳 (no seriously… this the one) The Cocktails — dangerous in the best way 🥃🥂 (that old fashioned tried to creep up on your girl 🥹) The OYSTER — not me becoming a raw food girlie on my THIRD try?? I was shook 😭🦪 The Vibes — moody, upscale, R&B playing just low enough to have you humming along
Caribbean / Trinidadian fusion done RIGHT. Every dish hit but the oxtail bara + crab patties?? Yeah… don’t play with them.
