During my open studio/ exhibition event presented by @adegbola.art a while ago, a thread installation was created during the show that people partook in. It stopped feeling like just my work, and became something we were all building together. You could actually feel the presence of different people, different experiences. It made me think even more about what we carry: the care, memory, responsibility… all the things we don’t always see. So, I was glad @logorofafrica suggested I created this online where it can also stay forever, my plan was to have a participatory installation at all my shows. The work has now moved online. I’m no programmer so I had the help of @claudeai to create this. It’s different, but the feeling is still there. And I’d still love for you to sit with that question— what do you carry? Here’s to many more! Please participate in the link in bio. #WhatWeCarry #WomeninArt #Coding by @haneefahadam

I’m excited to announce that I’m showing new body of work at Atlanta Art Fair (@atlartfair), at Pullman Yards. This will be my second time exhibiting with @paulconliffe, and I’m thrilled to be returning with a new selection of my laser-cut steel sculptures. These works continue my exploration of portraiture, nature, light and shadow, while also introducing an unexpected discovery in the process: textured surfaces that emerged with experimentation, becoming new part of the work. Presented by Paul Conliffe Booth D23, Pullman Yards October 1–4, 2026 Come see them in person. ❤️ #HaneefahAdam #AtlantaArtFair by @haneefahadam
We are delighted to announce Haneefah Adam as the winner of the inaugural Ventures Platform–YSMA Futures Art Award, a public art commission launched as part of our three-year collaboration with the Yemisi Shyllon Museum of Art and Pan-Atlantic University. Established in celebration of Ventures Platform’s 10th anniversary, the partnership brings together art, innovation, and entrepreneurial learning through a university-wide engagement programme and an annual commission for public-facing sculptures that explore innovation, the future, and public engagement. A multidisciplinary artist, Haneefah’s practice spans sculpture, installation, painting, photography, embroidery, digital illustration, and food art. Her work explores identity, memory, culture, motherhood, and representation, and has been exhibited locally and internationally, with features by CNN, BBC, and the Financial Times. Selected through a competitive open call and rigorous jury process, Haneefah’s winning proposal, Bloom in Unexpected Places, stood out for its originality, conceptual strength, and compelling interpretation of the Award’s theme: Reimagine the future and build into form through art. As the inaugural recipient, she will create a 12-foot public sculpture to be permanently installed within the Yemisi Shyllon Museum of Art and Pan-Atlantic University environment, creating a space for reflection, gathering, and imagining more humane futures. We look forward to unveiling Bloom in Unexpected Places this October. #venturesplatform #yemisishyllonmuseum #HaneefahAdam #backedbyvp by @haneefahadam

Studio shenanigans with Omi Obe 😆 @heevafabrics X Haneefah by @haneefahadam
The collaboration between @heevafabrics and @haneefahadam is a multi-sensory exploration that bridges the gap between culinary tradition and textile design. By pairing the “Ewedu” and “Omi Obe” printed fabrics, the bundle creates a layered expression of food and memory, drawing directly from the familiar visual contrast of soup and stew. This food-themed fabric drop functions as a reinterpretation of the cultural experience of eating Amala with Abula, translating a shared heritage into a tactile medium. Technically, the collection utilizes geometric abstractions to represent organic food elements. The “Ewedu” print features a web-like green and white pattern with a centralized yellow-orange motif, while the “Omi Obe” fabric employs a rhythmic diamond grid in deep terracotta and orange tones. These patterns are designed to work in tandem, much like the ingredients they represent, to celebrate the vibrancy and texture of Nigerian cuisine. The attention to detail in this drop extends beyond the textiles themselves to the entire brand experience. The packaging specifically utilizes paper bags designed to mimic standard food delivery bags, reinforcing the “Abula” theme and creating a playful, immersive narrative from the moment of purchase. By treating the fabric as if it were a meal, the collaboration highlights the “Spaces In Between” daily sustenance and personal style. The collection is strategically offered in two variations to cater to specific cultural preferences: Small Stew for a minimalist approach and Plenty Stew for those who “believe in plenty pepper”. This categorization adds a layer of humor and relatability, ensuring the product feels as much like a conversation as it does a design asset. It proves that cultural references are most potent when they tap into the subtle, lived experiences. Read more stories on our website https://lagos-meet.com/ by @haneefahadam
