Hello to anyone still following along here! August in Edinburgh always brings a flurry of messages asking if the shop is open for the Fringe. It's lovely that people still think of us, but Hannah Zakari actually closed its doors five years ago! However, last year I launched @dotandhana, my little dressmaking brand where everything is designed and made by me. I've been selling in person at markets around the country, which I absolutely love, but I do have a handful of things in my online shop too. My Frankie jacket has been my bestseller since day one. I love making and wearing Frankie, and they're a nice example of what I'm doing. And heads up - while the Frankie jackets are not part of it - I'm running a bit of a sale on the website at the moment for some of my other pieces.   If you fancy taking a look at what's in the sale, or want to find out which market I'm heading to next, pop over to the website and give @dotandhana a follow here too 🥰 by @hannah_zakari
Heyyyy! A wee head's up to say that I'll be in Glasgow at Kelvingrove -tomorrow! - Saturday, December 6th, with my handmade clothing @dotandhana Do pop over and follow there, and if you happen to be around Glasgow tomorrow I totally recommend coming along to @kelvingroveartgalleryandmuseum for @teagreenevents Market! PS Hello to new followers 👋 I rarely post here now HZ is closed, and when I do it's to tell you about stuff like this ! ☺️ by @hannah_zakari
Hello! I'm quickly popping over here to let you know that I'll be at the National Portrait Gallery in Edinburgh tomorrow and Sunday (9th & 10th August) with @teagreenevents and my dressmaking brand @dotandhana. I'm so excited to be back in Edinburgh right in the midsts of the fringe, and this should be a fantastic event. It would be brilliant to see some familiar faces from back in the HZ days! Hope to see you there 😚❤️ by @hannah_zakari
Hey there! It's been a very long time since I popped my head up on here, but I thought I'd say one last (maybe/probably) goodbye as I've decided the time has come to officially take the Hannah Zakari website offline. It's always been at the back of my mind to bring it back but there always seems to be something that feels more important. Anyway, I'm going to officially close next Monday 24th February, so if you would like to take some of the last pieces off my hands that would be lovely 😚 Looking back on my HZ years I feel really proud and have so many fond memories of the amazing people I worked with and the things we did. I have enormous gratitude to those who helped me through some really tough times, especially during the last few years of the shop. I think I probably didn't express it enough at the time but I'll be eternally thankful. However, this isn't a sad tale and life is good in a different way these days. I'm working for another small retail business where I get to flex my creative muscles, and after years of talking about having my own line of clothing, I've finally started cutting the pattern pieces  I'm quite offline but I always think 'I really should put that on instagram' and maybe one day I will! @dotandhana is where you'll find it when it happens ✨ Anyway, this is probably the most I've ever written on here. Love you all and thanks for everything ❤️❤️❤️ by @hannah_zakari
Hello and happy new year! I hope that 2023 has been good to you all so far. (before I start... there's 50% off all orders over £10 at HZ, no code needed!) A small update... Last year I spent time working on a new website and brand that just sells stuff that I've made. I tried to embrace early days of HZ vibes and I'm really enjoying it. It's called @dotandhana and it's a pressure free space for myself to create things. I imagine it will mostly move quite slowly with little sporadic bursts of activity. Even though I keep saying that I'm going to do better I find keeping on top of social media difficult. Since closing the Hannah Zakari Shop I try not to put any pressure on myself to post on sm regularly or at all, but it's had the obvious side effect of things being very slow business wise!   All this is to say that Hannah Zakari is naturally coming to an end,and I've taken 50% off everything if you spend £10.00 or more - this includes sale and non-sale stuff. As things sell I shall add other things, I still have a few boxes of shop stock that needs a lovely new home! NO CODE NEEDED! by @hannah_zakari
How lovely it is to be able to sit outside and work, which is exactly what I've been doing the last couple of days. And that's my way of letting you know that I've added some new things to the sale and marked things down even more! Serious bargains! This is probably about as active as HZ will be for the foreseeable future, but whenever I come back to instagram I'm reminded of how lovely our customers are so maybe I'll be around here a bit more from now on ❤️ I'm working on a new HZ-y style thing, Hannah Zakari but not quite, so I won't be completely dropping out 😊 So. Check out the sale (link in bio) and say hello, I really enjoyed some nice chats after my story the other day ❤️ And a quick out to everyone getting excited about the Edinburgh festival this year! by @hannah_zakari
Oh, it's been over a year since I last posted here and it feels a bit weird just popping up again and saying hello. But although I've not been very active on social media, the HZ webshop has been whirring away in the background, and even if they aren't quite as frequent as they once were, I've been packing and posting all of your lovely orders. Every one still bringing me (and hopefully you) joy ❤️ I was mentally worn out after closing the shop, so I decided to give myself a (sort of) break which lasted much longer than anticipated and is now is coming to an end with a new project that I'm excited about and feels good. But, to be honest, things are probably going to continue at a slow-ish pace and I may not post on here much, but it's nice just to check in and say hello and wish some good vibes for 2022 ☺️ I also didn't know what photo to use, everything is out of date and my work space is currently very uninspiring so I went for some nostalgic shop photos, aww ❤️📸❤️📸❤️📸❤️ by @hannah_zakari
Thank you to everyone for shopping with HZ this year. We wouldn't be here without you and more than ever have appreciated your support for our indie business ❤️ I've been overwhelmed by the kind comments and messages as we closed our shop, you really are the best 🥰 If you'd told me at the beginning of 2020 I'd be ending it in this way I'd hardly dare believe you! And to top things off, last week we moved house again! We weren't sure for a while that we'd be able to do this and I'm so happy to be back by the sea and finally settle down! (Random sea photo explained!) I hope everyone is happy and safe this Christmas, and it's as good as can be given the circumstances. See you all in 2021, things can only get better, right?! Love to you all, Rachael x 🥰🥰🥰 by @hannah_zakari
Our last designers of the year! All tagged so that you can find and support them in future! Thanks for all your messages and comments while I've been sharing some/most of the designers we've stocked over the last 10 years of our shop, so many designers have said HZ was their first stockist which makes me very happy as that's totally what I set out to do - bring new, interesting and beautiful things to our customers! ❤️❤️❤️ by @hannah_zakari
Yesterday's designers today! As always each image is tagged so you can follow and support this Xmas ❤️ by @hannah_zakari
Yesterday I shared more of our wonderful designers with you, as always they are tagged so you can follow and support this Christmas and beyond! ❤️ by @hannah_zakari
