CARRYING THE SONGS - She still carries the songs of her enslaved ancestors. Long ago they arrived in Surinam by boat from Africa. Travelling through Surinam I became aware of the resilience and openness of a community shaped by so many different cultures. This inpired me to create this work; a collage of Surinam photographs and white pencil. The first work of a series that grows gradually. by @artietamicitiae

🌸My cherry tree is in full bloom in the garden - its delicate pink blossoms quietly announcing the arrival of spring 🌱 . 🌸 Meanwhile HANAMI is being celebrated across Japan - a beloved spring tradition where people gather to picnic beneath blooming Sakura trees. From late March to early April, cities like Tokyo and Kyoto come alive with this fleeting, poetic beauty, symbolizing the transience of life. #hanami #stillife #landscapephotography by @artietamicitiae

⏰ Only a few more days to see them! Three exhibitions are coming to an end this week. Come by soon before you miss them!

🌌 Beyond the Image – Hanny Heetman @hannyheetman
In her first solo exhibition at Pulchri Studio, Hanny Heetman takes you beyond the visible. Photographic images are transformed into layered new realities, from silkscreen prints on glass to ink and oil paint.
📍 Klinkenberggaleries · until Sunday 22 February 2026

🌊 IJssellandschappen – Bert Welmers
On the occasion of his 80th birthday, Bert Welmers presents a new series of oil paintings of the river IJssel. Light, space and the openness of the landscape shape each work.
📍 Voorhoutgalerie · until Tuesday 24 February 2026

🌸 BLOOM – Irene van den Bos @irenevandenbos
In her work, the painting process takes centre stage as a physical and sensory act. Paint is applied, layered and explored until figuration dissolves into abstraction and a new reality emerges. Nature forms a quiet, underlying force.
📍 Tuingalerie · until Tuesday 24 February 2026

Pulchri Studio is open from 12:00 to 17:00.

🎏 From Japan to Paris, from a golden ring to Indonesian islands: Hanny Heetman takes you beyond the visible in ‘Beyond the Image’.

A first solo exhibition where documentary and imagination converge. Hanny intervenes in the original image and creates new realities. Screen prints on glass, oil paint, ink on paper. Dreamscapes, Pu-Yi on his own, Lost in time. And for the first time: Recollections in a Lacquer Box, where memories become visual and tangible.

📍 Klinkenberggaleries, Pulchri Studio
📅 January 24 - February 22, 2026
🕒 Opening: tomorrow at 3:00 PM, by the artist herself

Last week I joined the workshop “Go with the flow” by @LiaoZhanghong in @pulchristudio the Hague. Introducing Chinese calligraphy on rice paper by Liao and visiting het exposition was a great way to experience an Asian atmosphere. by @artietamicitiae
