✨Welcome to LaLa, a hidden gem downstairs at @juneoncambie. Moody lighting, a curated menu of food from upstairs, and djs spinning vinyls every night 💿🎧

Confession: while there is tons of hype around zero-proof drinks right now, I usually think $20 for ‘juice’ is crazy. Buttt LaLa’s mixologist made me the best mocktail I’ve ever had, making the whole experience so enjoyable. It’s the perfect spot for vibing to good music on date night or girls’ night 🥂💃🏻

🇨🇳 This is Canada’s only Michelin Starred Chinese restaurant. They’re known for their Beijing roast duck with crispy, golden skin and juicy meat, carved tableside.

The $88 for 2 lunch special is honoured every day (including weekends) from 11am-4pm. All duck dishes are 100% halal(!!!), and we requested a seafood/veg replacement for the pork.

The food was beautifully presented and tasted great, but the service was extremely rude and hostile—honestly one of the worst experiences I’ve had, which made me question their awards and how they’ve maintained a Star for 4 years.

Do I recommend the visit? Yes but 1) only at this price, and 2) if you love or have always wanted to try Peking duck. The $88 price tag was a steal for the amount of food we got (which was all delicious). Keep service expectations VERY low… just enjoy the food and interior and call it a day ✨

Note:
• They don’t always accommodate dietary restrictions. Call ahead of time and confirm again once you arrive
• The dress code is “elegant attire” (no shorts or slippers). No one was dressed as fancy as we expected so don’t stress about it

@elemvancouver deserves alllll the flowers. Their “let us cook for you” menu has two options: $98 vs. $125 per person which are both INCREDIBLE value for what you get. I highly recommend going with a group of besties so you can try everything on their globally-inspired menu. The service is always 10/10, and the space feels lively & intimate at the same time. All meat is halal, plus they have a great mocktail program (get the clarified mango lassi & thank me later xoxo)

Not my first time here & definitely won’t be my last! @wildbluerestaurant has been a favourite for years — they offer an upscale, seafood-forward, locally-sourced menu, “where coastal influences from Italy, France, & the Pacific Northwest meet the mountains.” 🏔️
