Never thought I’d see the day, but I officially made a #battlevest for someone other than me and my cat… ~Presenting “Legends Only”~ Process: This was originally a baby blue wannabe cowgirl vest with hideous, sparkly fringe. I filched it from a local theater after a touring cast member abandoned it lol. I removed the fringe, then bleached it and dyed it grey, added the vintage Iron Maiden iron-on but it was so old that it did this flaking thing so I just rolled with it and started adding patches. Of course I had to add some sparkle back in, with the SLAYER back patch from @noclass.merch, the DEATH with Cats patch from @pulltheplugpatches, Chuck’s favorite band Sortilège, and of course Razor. I named it Legends Only because all of the featured bands are ones that imo any die-hard should at least be aware of. Barring the original Death lineup, I’m lucky to have seen them all live, and more so to call some of them friends. It’s hard to tell, but the Suffocation patch is signed by every member of the band. I saved the Jackson logo from a guitar case that was falling apart and made it into a patch. The collar is made up of VIP wristbands. All of my vests come with hidden pockets as well as a unique signature. This one is tagged with the Aztec jaguar god to match the recycled punk print along the seams. The most tedious part was measuring and adding the chain detail. Of course, I had to leave a little bit of room for Amelia to add some patches and pins of her own if she wants to. Thanks for reading💖💕 -Neve by @harleyquinnberlee

Today is my birthday, which means Neve is 666 years old! Hahaha. To explain, my chosen name was taken from a macabre fairytale originally written in Spanish by my favorite painter from youth, Victoria Frances @victoriafrancesofficial . I did Medieval reenactment for 14 consecutive years, basing my persona off of the character. I did so because, when I first joined the SCA at the tender age of 19, I was instructed by then-Seneschal and Vice Admiral Lord Gargamont to “choose a nickname lest one be chosen for me.” He made it abundantly clear that it wouldn’t be a flattering nickname by adding, “You think I chose the name Gargamont?” I also conveniently already had her costume, as my mother had helped me sew it some years back, when I was still in high school. Angel Wings is a tragic tale about a little orphan girl and her kitten (who looked suspiciously like a kitten I once had, and shared an almost identical name, just one letter off), who lived together in an isolated place, that could only be escaped in death. Only, in my version of the tale, Neve doesn’t die, and instead runs away to join a pirate ship that’s docked not too far from her home. Based on her style of dress, I estimated the fictional character must have been born around the year 1360, and then in 1379 she joined the Barking Spyder Pyrat Ship, premier pirate household of the SCA. There, she spent 5 long years as an anchor (prospect) before being unanimously voted on as an able-bodied crew member. In the current Middle Ages 1391 she was elected Captain, but was referred to as Mr. Neve or Sir by her crew, and as Uncle by their offspring, because women are considered back luck on ship. Roughly one year into her tenure, a betrayer fancying themself a wizard infiltrated her crew and started a whisper campaign behind her back, resulting in a mutiny. The mutiny-attempt failed, but Neve would have her revenge… She intentionally steered the ship up onto the rocks in the night. A dingy was sent out in search of survivors; few remained. Her body was never found. She is believed to have survived the crash and is currently at-large. #lore by @harleyquinnberlee

“Death is her true love, but she betrays him also.” My first MDF was unforgettable. Favorite set overall was Tankard; their pit was positively bonkers. Cleanest death metal sets were Pyrexia and Benediction imho. Saw several bands for the first time, including Sigh, whose stage performance was phenomenal. Made new friends as always. & Best of all, I was reunited with some of my favorite humans♥ Miss them already. #marylanddeathfest by @harleyquinnberlee
