Customizing some @ikeausa cabinets. Added these maple boxes with open self to the Ikea cabinets to give them a built in look. Along with the upper cabinets we built a custom hood and wrapped the fridge and cabinets above it . This home has a lot of very customized built ins and features. #customhome #customhood #customcabinets #cabinet #cabinetmaker #ikea #ikeahack #ikeakitchen #builtins by @harmonyredesign.co

Only one way to set a thousand lb. Steel beam …. Work smarter not harder by @harmonyredesign.co

Hey, Holly here- long time, no post😉 I took a major step back a few years ago when it came to design, mostly because when you’re a creative person, I feel like you are either brimming with a million ideas you want to try, or, your brain is 🦗…and you are literally not inspired by anything. Well that’s where I’ve been, but this past year I came out of “retirement” for a project that actually had me a little excited (plus, it was for a pretty special client too) My speciality has always been being able to creatively utilize small spaces in a way that is functional, yet still aesthetically pleasing. This space was an unfinished storage space above the garage. It was dark, dingy, dusty, cluttered and the only purpose it served was to store junk, junk, and more unnecessary junk😬 Now, its a pretty adorable 500sq foot studio apartment with a full kitchen and bath(with a shower I envy so much) and glorious afternoon/evening light that floods the windows and skylights 😍 This project was an investment, it was a lesson in patience, it was a new learning experience and a creative outlet for me, and it was a major labor of love on Anthony’s part 💕 so, if in the new year you’re looking to create more functional space in your home, maybe in a space you never even considered as an option, we can probably help you out 😉
Make sure you scroll to the end to see some pretty fun Before and After pictures.
Happy Holidays everyone 🎄❤️ by @harmonyredesign.co

We wrapped up this install for @oshea_woodwork today focusing on the trim detail, floating shelving and hardware. More scribing of frieze and crown molding. Thanks @harmonyredesign.co for inviting me to this install with you. It’s always enjoyable with someone like Anthony who pays attention to all the little details and strives towards a 👌🏻 install. 👊🏻👊🏻 by @harmonyredesign.co

@harmonyredesign.co invited me to help hang cabinets in a city home with cabinets built by @oshea_woodwork. Along with the unique color cabinetry came the challenge of scribing the exposed end of the cabinet to an old brick wall. What the video doesn’t show is the repetitive action of: scribe, sand, hang/fit and then repeat that process over and over again to make sure the cabinet fits well against the uneven nature of the brick. We’ll be back tomorrow to wrap it up. by @harmonyredesign.co

Hey there, it’s been awhile. I’ve been kind of MIA, not intentionally, just kind of happened. But it’s been good. Personally in a season where IG feels more like a “selective scrapbook” rather than an “open journal”.

Life has been full. Almost hard to explain. And maybe that’s why I haven’t. So I’ll keep it simple and say we bought a house. Yep, back in December. One of those not old enough to be cool, but not new enough to be cool either. It wasn’t what I had prayed or planned for. After selling our previous home nothing went like I expected, and to be honest that was hard, BUT it was a chance to live what I believe and that is that God’s plans are always better than our own. Even after we purchased the house, I was reminded that it’s ok to be sad even after making the right decision. But with each day, each step of the process, it’s become more evident that we found the perfect place for our next chapter. Will we be here 15 years or 50, who knows…but we are so grateful to be in another season of creating home together, the 4 of us, along with many other talented people that are helping to bring our vision to life.

While I was not anticipating another major home renovation, here we are. Almost every room of the house has some change or update happening and it’s taken a ton of creative energy, but I love it and as tempted as I’ve been at times to feel unqualified or frustrated and ready to hire someone to “figure this out for me and make the zillion decisions”, I’m being patient with myself and the process and taking it one day at a time. Honestly, it’s gonna require patience over years. Things like this don’t happen overnight or even over weeks or months, but can take years, and that’s ok.

So it’s full steam ahead for a few more months as we hope to be moving in by spring & can’t wait to welcome friends & family through these doors! A big thank you to @hannahroyer_realtor @harmonyredesign.co @daydreambelvr @christieshardwoodflooring @oshea_woodwork and of course my amazing dad!

Oh and the Moravian Star pendant light that snuck into the second photo, that’s the last you’ll be seeing that haha! 🏡❤️🔨🧱🪚🧰 by @harmonyredesign.co
