POSTS STORIES REELS

Introduction Time! Now that I have a couple followers, I wanted to take a minute to introduce myself. My name is Sherrie (yes, my parents made it complicated), and I was born and raised in a small Appalachian town in West (by God) Virginia called Richwood. Growing up, I couldn’t wait to move away (it hurts my heart now to admit that), and after I finished college, I did. I couldn’t bring myself to leave WV though. I ended up in the Eastern panhandle as a school teacher in Berkeley county. I’ve now been a transplant to the area longer than what I lived in Richwood. My husband and I have raised two sons, and we are happy to call Berkeley county our home. My heart is rooted deep in the culture of WV, and I love being outdoors. Hence the creation of this page. I felt like all I ever posted was hiking content, so @hartman_hikes was born. I’m not trained in outdoor survival, so please don’t follow me if you expect me to save your life in the woods, but I love my state and sharing it with others. I’m happy my account found you☺️ by @hartman_hikes

The Eastern Panhandle of WV may not have the most popular hiking trails, like New River or Tucker county, but have you ever heard of a little thing called the Appalachian Trail? Visit Harpers Ferry and hike a section of the most iconic trail on the east coast. by @hartman_hikes
