Today, that’s a cinematic anime trailer for the game, created as an early exploration of an Astro Burn anime feature film. Yep, i’m always finding another way to push the game! 😸🚀 This was especially exciting for me because my teenage years were all about anime like Akira, Ghost in the Shell, Cyber City Oedo 808 and so many more. Those worlds fired up my imagination, so exploring what Astro Burn could become through anime feels pretty special. It’s still early days, but seeing Astro make the leap from gameplay into anime storytelling has been a real buzz and this is a taste of where I’d love to take these characters. More to reveal soon. For now, enjoy the trailer, I’d love to hear what you think! Created with @nurastudioshq Showcraft powered by Astro Burn game art & large cups of coffee. Yay! We’ve just launched the Astro Burn Game Card Edition! 🚀 This came from conversations at events this year. I’d assumed everyone had Steam. Turns out, plenty of people interested in Astro Burn don’t especially parents drawn to its cute, retro style, who just want to buy a game and install it. Quite a few told me they missed buying boxed games. That stuck with me. So I wanted to make Astro Burn easy to pick up and play, with something physical worth keeping too. Inside each pack: five randomly selected original art cards, two stickers—including a holographic one and a digital game card. Scratch, redeem, and download for PC or Mac. No launcher or login needed to play, and the game is yours to keep forever. At £9.99, I wanted it to be an affordable treat or a little gift for the gamer in your life. A bit of that old-school joy of opening a game, discovering what’s inside, and getting stuck in. That’s the Astro Burn Collector’s Card Edition. #retrogaming #collectors #physicalmedia #gaming #indiegames by @hazdazzle
I’m a little kid excited with my squeal-y voice as I share this! Thank you @bafta for the opportunity. #indiegames #bafta #gamedev by @hazdazzle
Another little peek behind the scenes as we work on the Astro Burn Kickstarter rewards here at Beyond The Pixels®. This time, we’re assembling the cardboard insert that will hold your cartridge inside the box, checking the fit before it goes to print by the awesome team at Proof+ It’s one of those small details that takes a bit of care to get right, we want everything to sit securely and feel special when you open your copy. We’ve also chosen recyclable cardboard for the insert, although we suspect many of you collectors will be keeping the whole package intact! 😸 It’s exciting to see all these pieces coming together, and I’m so glad we can share the journey with you, especially at a time when having something physical to hold, keep and treasure feels more meaningful than ever. #indiegames #retrogaming #gamedev #physicalmedia by @hazdazzle
We’ve just launched a dedicated Astro Burn website! But why does an indie game need its own website? Because from day one, I’ve always seen Astro Burn as more than just a game. It’s an IP, a brand, and a universe with so much potential beyond the game itself. As a creator, one of the most exciting things for me is building worlds, characters and stories that can live beyond a single medium, and do this with the wonderful community that is growing every day. And that’s exactly the vision we have for Astro Burn at Beyond The Pixels®. Our new website is the central hub for everything Astro Burn! Play the Game: Find Astro Burn across all its digital platforms, including Steam, GOG and more. Physical Collectibles: Our shop is taking shape, with some exciting physical products on the way, including the upcoming Astro Burn Game Card Collector’s Edition, with pre-orders opening soon! Free Goodies: Download wallpapers for your desktop and phone, GIFs and other fun Astro Burn content. Stay Connected: Join our mailing list for updates, new releases and everything happening in the Astro Burn universe. But for me, this website represents something bigger. As an independent IP creator, I believe its important to build a direct relationship with your audience, rather than relying entirely on third-party platforms and storefronts. Steam, GOG and other platforms are fantastic for reaching players, but having our own dedicated home gives us the freedom to grow Astro Burn beyond the game, connect directly with our community and build something that can evolve for years to come. And believe me, theres a LOT more coming from this little space kitty! 😸 A massive thank you to everyone who's supported both our game Astro Burn and our indie studio on this journey. 👉 check out the site link in the bio. #indiegames #gaming #catgames #retrogaming #gamedev by @hazdazzle
Look what arrived from our printing partners - @proof_plus today, a whole stack of the beautiful Astro Burn game booklets for our lovely @kickstarter backers. There’s something special about holding the printed booklet after seeing it come together on screen. It brings back that feeling of opening a new game and flicking through the manual before jumping in, and I’m so excited for you to experience it too. I can’t wait to pack these into your boxes alongside the USB cartridges and get them on their way to you. First, the team at Beyond The Pixels® are carefully checking every booklet and cartridge to make sure everything we send out is purrfect. More behind-the-scenes updates are coming soon. As always, thank you for your support and patience, it means so much to all of us to see the physical release of Astro Burn coming to life with you. #indiegames #retrogaming #physicalmedia #gaming #90s by @hazdazzle
