This year's @birminghampunkrockflea has come to a close! A massive thank you to the organizers for working triple to get everything smoothed out for turbulent weather, to our punks and patrons for the killer turnout, and to friends and family for support during our crazed market prep!

While there was some tragedy (I'm looking at you Amaco dipping Obsidian) overall I would call this firing a success. It had some of my favorite pieces to date.

This past year I have worked on really throwing (clay pun) myself into my art. Upgrading equipment, testing new materials, and putting in hours behind the wheel. Thank you for joining me as I strive to continue improving.

This commision provided a wonderful opportunity to explore my take on a classic. She was a pain and a half to throw, but pieces like this challenge me to look beyond my typical work, towards more complex forms.

Thrown several of these tall cylinders lately for a commission. Let's just say they're a pain in the... back. Quite literally. At nearly a foot tall, I have to stand to finish throwing them.

If you knew me when I was younger, then you know I hold a flame for archeology. Life may not always turn out the way you dreamed as a kid, but we all have a roll in a greater story. You'll find your place, sometimes over and over again.

Spring cleaning has hit the studio. And though temps hover around 90, there is work to be done! by @hdempseyceramics

Perfect day to just slow down and get some throwing in... Step one of a restock for yesterday's garlic graters. by @hdempseyceramics

These garlic graters were so fun to make! They get a whole clove ultrafine in about 5 seconds.

Custom order, various styles available. What should we make next? by @hdempseyceramics

Love how clean this piece shaped up to be. I didn't show a bit of trimming I did while still in the wet stage, but here's part II. This next video will likely take a couple weeks, so I'll upload then!
