Congratulations to Mitchell, Manager of our Lismore, Ballina and Tweed Heads hearing centres, on being recognised with our Leadership Award for Excellence. Mitchell's journey with Hearing Australia is a wonderful example of growth and dedication. He began in a combined Community Hearing Advisor and Client Service Specialist role before moving into his current position as Centre Manager. His leadership approach is centred on communication, collaboration and creating an environment where both people and performance can thrive. Mitchell says, “For me, excellence is about combining clear expectations with recognition, support, and a positive workplace culture. What matters most to me is helping my team succeed and ensuring our clients receive the very best experience possible.” by @hearing_australia

Celebrating our clinicians: Kristen Sutcliffe

"When someone walks into my office, that is a whole person... or in this case, a whole family."

For Kristen, hearing care is about far more than hearing devices. It's about supporting children and families to access every opportunity life has to offer and ensuring each client is seen as a whole person.

Thank you, Kristen, for the compassion, expertise and family-centred care you bring to every client experience💙

Our team has had the privilege of working closely with the Caring for Hearing in Children (CHIC) clinic at the Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne for several years. The clinic brings together expertise across organisations, disciplines and services to help families access support more easily and ensure children receive coordinated care throughout their hearing journey. Recently, the CHIC clinic was recognised with the Partnering in Healthcare Award at the 2026 Victorian Public Healthcare Awards. Our Paediatric Audiologist Lauren says, “This award recognises the contribution of every organisation involved in supporting children and families. When different professionals and services come together with the same goal of supporting children and families, that's when the magic really happens.” Congratulations to the entire CHIC team on this well-deserved recognition!

At Hearing Australia, we’re committed to making hearing care accessible for everyone. Yet for many Australians, support still remains out of reach due to gaps in existing funding pathways.

Through our Social Purpose Program, we reinvest profits to fund hearing care for people who would otherwise miss out—helping remove barriers to employment, participation and connection.

In our latest video, Jamie Petschy from Workforce Australia explains how better access to hearing care can transform lives by:

✅ Restores confidence and independence

✅ Challenges workplace misconceptions on hearing loss

✅ Creates positive social and economic outcomes

🎥 Watch the video below to hear why levelling the playing field matters.
