POSTS STORIES REELS

These are a few of the homes I’ve had the pleasure of transforming alongside amazing clients. Each one has its own story, its own personality, and a few little surprises that make it feel like home. 😊 🏡

One of my favourite parts of the design process is watching a client’s eyes light up when we land on the perfect pieces of the puzzle! The colours, textures, and all those little quirks that make a space feel truly theirs.

Are you planning a renovation? If you're curious about how your space could feel when it's complete, not just how it will look, feel free to shoot me a DM or drop a comment. I’d love to hear about your project! by @heartspaceshona

Hi, are you new here? I’m so glad you stopped by! Hmm, now what can I tell you about myself?

Welcome to Heartspace! I’m Shona, the heart (and the creative chaos) behind the work you’ll see here. I work collaboratively with my clients, creating spaces that feel supportive, personal, and genuinely lived in.

I share my days with two cats and a dog who like to supervise from nearby... all of them named after pop culture icons, of course. I’m a lifelong Trekkie, comic book nerd, avid convention-goer, and wannabe cosplayer (ask me about my Thor costume!). I used to be an actor, and rock star, which still surprises people (ask me about my Guns N Roses band!). I also spend time volunteering with kids aged 9 to 14, teaching mindfulness and meditation. It’s grounding work, and it shapes how I show up with my clients too.

I was born in Scotland, my family moved to Canada when I was two (hence no accent!), and I’ve lived in four Canadian provinces since. Home has never really been just one place for me, which might be why I’m so drawn to helping people create spaces that truly feel like theirs.

If you’re curious about creativity, colour, and homes that reflect real lives, or if you just want to talk comics, Star Trek, or pets named after your own favourite heroes, you’re very welcome here. Take your time, have a look around, and if something sparks your curiosity, leave a comment or shoot me a DM! by @heartspaceshona

I’ll be honest: everything feels overwhelming right now.

Around the world, we're watching governments violently oppress their citizens, entire communities targeted by alt-right ideologies, and innocent people being "disappeared" and murdered in the streets by those in power. Genocide, war, and the tangible cruelty of greed and tyranny play across our screens daily. It’s heartbreaking and infuriating.

Here in Canada, bigoted views are on the rise. We pretend we're a friendly and polite people, but over the past few years a harsh and blinding light has been shone on our true colours as a nation.

It makes me feel powerless at times, but I refuse to look away.

I want to make it blatant that I take a clear and unwavering stand for inclusion, open-mindedness, equality and community. I believe in lifting each other up, embracing one another, celebrating our differences, and creating a life that reflects curiosity, kindness, and courage.

Bigotry and hatred have no place here. by @heartspaceshona
