Sometimes, if you’re lucky, your heart is full.

And then sometimes when you’re in a room completely full of love, your heart just bursts with joy.

What a way to close out an amazing SXSW at @radioeastaustin this past Wednesday with so many friends, old and new, singing their hearts out in tribute to a great man for a great cause, @myhaam

This will be a night not soon forgotten by myself and a lot of others fine folks. Thank you to everyone who made this wonderful night possible.

@rg_panicstrickenatx and his band @panicstrickenatx have us spoiled here in Austin with #widespreadwednesday every week at @thegreenmesquitebbq but if I was in Nashville I’d make sure to make it out to @eastsidebowl to celebrate Panic 40th bday and Josh’s THIRTIETH! Should be a GREAT time with great music and even better people! So get down and put a boot down! #widespreadpanic #freeparking taken in Downtown Austin by @westtexasexiles

I won’t pretend that I was good friends with @toddsniderlive but all of my good friends in Nashville were and they loved him dearly. He and John Prine were as close to musical messiahs as I’ve ever known. He led so many musicians to bigger and better places musically with his kindness and mentorship of so many artists in town. As brilliant a musician as he was he was even more kind as a human being. It seemed like every crazy all star show that @heavypedalprod put together in Nashville, Todd was always letting us drag 20-30 artists into The Purple Building, his studio in East Nashville, to rehearse and hang. Helpful to a fault to just about anyone making music for the right reasons, he was always interested in whatever folks had cooking. I’ll miss that and I don’t think Nashville will ever be the same without him weaving his way through everyone’s lives. I know he’s left this earth but his spirit and energy will never leave East Nashville. It’s already been a day and still doesn’t seem real. RIP Bulldog. 💔
