Hubby Lessons

The biggest mistake you could make in your marriage is divorcing a lcheater right away. Hear me out! 💕

💍Wait, wait, wait, before you unfollow me. Listen ladies, think about a time when you cheated. And don't play with me, you cheated on something rather it was with a person or documents and you looked for the same, if not equal grace and mercy.
I definitely cheated on my ex. Not gonna lie, I felt like if he cheated, gives me the right to cheat too?
💍However, I didn't realize what comes around goes around. When I cheated, I had to almost expect to be cheated on.
💍On the other hand, I'm not saying to give your hubby a free pass. What I am saying is learn to show grace and mercy (depending on the situation--- results vary).
💍For me, I believe in fighting for love, equally fighting to keep what we built. If your marriage is worth keeping, try to work through it, seek professional help if needed. If not let him go, and hopefully he will change, while youre changing as well. So be patient and see if things can be worked out, and "do not" hold on to that man if you don't want him.

Tag a friend you know that might be throwing a cheater or a potentially redeemable marriage away.

Hubby Lessons Day 1 of 7

My hubby taught me there's one particular trait you're going to have to change if you want to keep a good man in your life.

💍 Sis. you are going to have to get rid of the "mean girl syndrome" which is rooted in insecurities, and a need for unhealthy social power or control. This syndrome makes her man look bad by using non physicsl hurtful tactics.
A real man is going to stay around and allow you to walk all over him, mistreat him in front of his family, embarrass him in front of his friends, then you expect him to come back home to you and be faithful and loyal.
If he does come back home, he could be emotionally tapped out.
💍 Here's what you can do. Drop the over spicy attitude and ask for help if you're too far gone or out of hand. There are a lot of great council and support groups. Don't be ashamed to get help. I did. If they don't work, try Jesus, he will fix it.

You brought your childhood survival habits into your marriage......

🌹 You learned as a little girl not to express your feelings because nobody listened and you were taught to stay in a child's place. You learned to stay quiet because speaking up caused conflict and got you in more trouble than you bargained for. You learned to handle everything alone because depending on people disappointed you.

💍 Now you're married to someone who wants to love you, but you struggle to let him in.
Your childhood taught you how to survive. Your marriage is asking you to learn how to connect.

🌹 You cannot build emotional intimacy while constantly operating in survival mode.

What Does emotional care really Look Like?

“Sometimes, we mistake it with trying to fix our husbands or a man's subtle dismissive behavior, with a little shut down here and there, and inconsistency his love. Heres three ways emotional care should feel different.

🌹 One, He should sit with you, hear you out and allow you time to vent, without rushing you, showing a dismissive behavior or tuning you out.

💍 Two, During difficult moments, he should take time to calm himself, pause, and re-connect with you without making it seem like you're the problem.

🌹 Three, His emotional presence should show up in daily interactions with you like hand holding, a hug, smile, a kiss which creates a safe space for you to drop your guards.

I'm a good wife and carried this one unhealthy trait from my childhood into my marriage that made it hard for my husband to emotionally bond with me.

🌹I kept treating my husband like I saw women or people treat their husbands or significant other. This was toxic in itself.

💍 I admit, I didn't do the work to find out what would make "him" and "us" emotionally bond. I brought unhealthy habits into my marriage.

🌹I soon learned mimicking another marriage or relationship is a disaster and what works in one relationship or marriage might not work in mine.

💍 Repeating this unhealthy habit made my husband emotionally withdraw and we became distant.

One of the greatest joys and accomplishments this year is to have my husband's full support of me writing my book.

💍 I wrote my 21-day Hubby Challenge from 25 plus years of marriage and first hand experience on how a man should "Serve his wife in love."

🌹 We spent nearly two decades of many mistakes until we created a balance of healthy emotional support for each other.

💍 Today, I challenge husbands to serve their wife with the emotional care she needs.

🌹 Husbamds, ask yourself, "Does my wife feel emotionally safe with me?"

💍 For years we've seen wives serving everyone's needs except her own. However, she should not serve to the point of exhaustion, burn out or neglect her well-being.

🌹 I am thankful for a man who understands the challenges of caring for a busy household but stepping in to "serve" without making me feel like it bothered him.

Husbands, its your turn. Wifey, gift your husband a copy today, link in bio. Thank me later.

I'm a good wife and carried three unhealthy traits from childhood lnto my marriage that made it hard for my husband to emotionally bond witg me.

🌹 I carried a lot of resentment from an emotionally unavailable caregiver which transferred into my marriage making it difficult to intimately embrace do my husband.
💍 Years of bitterness, anger and unforgiveness created a disconnect making it almost impossible for me to immediately attach to my husband.
🌹 Sudden outbursts an episodic behavior which stemmed from the emotional neglected that I never healed from caused my husband to slowly distance himself from me.

The day I stopped excusing and suppressing my behavior, sought professional and spiritual help, my relationship with my husband grew stronger. 💕

One of my pet peeves is when a significant other brings emotional dysfunction in the relationship and pass it off as if you're the problem.

🌹 I used to be this way. I used to try to blame my ex and even tried to bring emotional dysfunction in my marriage.

💍 Initially, I didn't want to take accountability for my actions, or the behavior I brought into the relationship. Can anyone relate? I was combative, and didn't want to take accountability for my episodic behavior.
