Get to know me 🌟 I have gained so many followers since my last “get to know me” post and my life has changed so much that I felt it was time for an update! Here are some facts about me 🤍:

☀️ My name is Darlene and I am born and raised in San Diego, CA 🌴
☀️ I am in my third year of teaching and am currently teaching 5th grade!
☀️ I got my BA in Sociology, class of 2020 from the University of CA, Irvine @ucirvine and my MA in Education, class of 2023 from National University @nationaluniversity
☀️ I am currently engaged and live with my fiance, Andrew and my doggy Kilo!
☀️ My comfort show is Family Guy and it always shocks people 😂 I have watched all 23 seasons on repeat!
☀️ I LOVE cooking and cook nearly every meal I eat 😋
☀️ I am left-handed! 🖐️
☀️ Prior to jobs involving children, I have only worked in restaurants and honestly felt I was a really good waitress!
☀️ My birthday is Christmas Eve 🎄
☀️ I drink caffeine everyday and it’s honestly something I need to lighten up on a bit 😅
☀️ As a more experienced teacher, my ideal and most preferred grade level right now is 1st 🤩

Those are the most random things I can think of right now but I am always here to answer more questions! Thank you for reading and I hope you got to know me a little bit more! ☺️

Making practice a little more fun and giving the whole class something to work toward together! 💎✨ Love this idea from @khanacademy !

Give it up for semester 2 🎉✨

Going into this semester much more confident with myself, my teaching, and definitely have adapted more to my new circumstances 🤩 We love growth woo! My only downside is that I’m having a hard time not dreading October because in exactly a month will be my wedding and of course that’s all I want to focus on right now 🥲 Thankfully, fall break gave me the time to do a lot of my wedding stuff and it was time I definitely needed because I feel SO MUCH BETTER about my wedding 😭 Now I can just focus on school rather than two big things! Go me! 😙

Fall break kicked off with our bach with the best people ever 🤍

Being a teacher and trying to plan a wedding is TOUGH 🫠 I honestly don’t know how I’m doing it without a planner. I have a coordinator for the day of so don’t freak out too much 😵‍💫 I hope that everything goes well BUT TAKE IT FROM ME, PLS GET A PLANNER 😂 We’re almost one month away 🤩

Movie day was always one of my favorite school days growing up… so of course I had to give it an upgrade for my students 🍿🥛✨

Give it up for my best anchor chart yet 👏 👏👏 Definitely going to laminate this 😭

We are currently learning about thermal energy and how heat can be transferred 🔥 The students really hyped me up with this poster but I do gotta say… my teacher handwriting is *chef’s kiss*
