POSTS STORIES REELS

Last night at The Altneu
We opened “Rough Draft: War, Faith, and Healing,” a powerful exhibition by Israeli artist Sam Griffin, in collaboration with the Jerusalem Biennale and Helwaser Gallery.
Sam shared his journey as a soldier, artist, and person of deep faith, in conversation with journalist and gallerist Gabé Hirschowitz.
It was an evening filled with emotion, reflection, and a shared sense of support for Israel and its soldiers — even more deeply felt since October 7th.
The exhibition is on view until June at The Altneu, 107 East 70th Street, NYC.
If you’re in New York, come by — it’s a conversation we all need right now.

✨ Art + Interior Harmony
Two of Jacob Skornik’s most iconic works—Young Girl with a Pearl Earring (Pink) and Mona Lisa (Silver)—breathe character and contrast into this elegant modern home.

Their scale, shimmer, and classical references create a striking visual anchor while complementing the clean lines and natural light of the space.

🖼️ A perfect example of how art can elevate interior design.
📍 Now showing at Booth 147 | Hamptons Fine Art Fair

🖼️ Known for its expertise in post-war and pop art—from Andy Warhol to Helen Frankenthaler—Antoine Helwaser Gallery (@helwasergallery) also champions the work of contemporary artists who echo and reframe these historic legacies. Jacob Skornik’s glittering, re-interpretive portraits embody that ethos, blending classical imagery with contemporary techniques like diamond dust and rich acrylics.

In this reinterpretation of da Vinci’s iconic portrait, Skornik overlays memory, desire, and material intensity. The use of diamond dust infuses the surface with both shimmer and sharpness—transforming the image into something contemporary, delicate, and quietly defiant.

Last week we opened the exhibition *Rough Draft* in a very special place. The @altneusynagogue is more than a shul. It is quite an amazing group of superheroes. Founded just three years ago by Rabbi Benjamin Goldschmidt and Rebbetzin @avitalrachel , the main motto of the place is going after Rabbi Kook’s quote: The Old Shall Be Renewed and The New Shall Be Made Holy. President Alexander Tsigutkin and his wife Diana Gordon are taking a very active role in shaping up this amazing place and community. Victor and Freddie are making sure everyone is happy. Together they host about 400 people every Shabbat for Tfila and Kiddush. The exhibition was initiated in collaboration with the @helwasergallery , led by Anne-Marie Helwaser. Conversation with the artist at the opening was moderated by @ghirsch , founder curator of @galerieperrie . Exhibition is open until June 1. Let us know if you want to visit. by @helwasergallery

✨ A Thought-Provoking Dialog in Westhampton Beach ✨
This past weekend, I had the pleasure of co-hosting a talk with Patricia Kamoun at her gallery in Westhampton Beach. 🎨 The event was made even more meaningful with a captivating introduction by Dr. Debora Barchilon, who sparked an engaging conversation about the presence—or absence—of women in pop art, both as subjects and artists.

Her insights challenged us to reflect on how women have been represented, celebrated, and overlooked in art history and the pop art movement. The dialogue resonated deeply with the audience, fostering a shared perspective on how art shapes our understanding of gender and identity.

A huge thank you to Patricia Kamoun for curating this special moment, and to everyone who joined us for this unforgettable afternoon of art, conversation, and community! ✨ by @helwasergallery

When you look at a model, an advertisement, a photograph what do you see?
Emma Coyle sees an icon.
Throughout her nearly three-decades of artistic practice, Emma has come to master The Icon. In her vividly colored paintings, Emma distills the figure down to its essence - the shapes, lines and hues which define our aesthetics, our art, ourselves.
Coyle’s work pops off the surface of the canvas and dominates the room; whether on the wall, on a screen, immersed in a bouquet of flowers or shrouded in a dark room. No matter where you encounter it, Emma’s paintings invite you in, beckon you to join them in their joy and live like they do - boldly and unapologetically. Video by @sam._.inspire ❤️
