A full house and meaningful conversation! 🧡🖤 Hendrix students gathered for an engaging roundtable with President Karen Petersen and distinguished alumnus Theo Bunting Jr. ’81, gaining insights from his remarkable career in business and leadership. A Hendrix graduate with a degree in economics and business, with an emphasis in accounting, Bunting spent more than three decades with Entergy Corporation, ultimately serving as Group President of Utility Operations. After retirement, he continued his leadership and service through corporate and nonprofit board roles, including service on the Hendrix College Board of Trustees. He is also a recipient of the College’s Odyssey Medal, recognizing his professional accomplishments and contributions. We’re grateful for opportunities to bring our students together with accomplished alumni whose lives and careers demonstrate the lasting impact of a liberal arts education. These conversations allow them to hear firsthand perspectives on how a Hendrix education can shape a lifetime of leadership, service, and impact. Thank you to Theo for spending time with Hendrix students.🧡🖤 by @hendrixalumni

It was an honor to celebrate Shelby Anderson ‘16, Caitlin Kriesel-Bigler ‘16, Jessica Miller Boeckmann ‘05, Eric Omundson ‘81, and Ronnie Williams ‘76 and recognize their lasting impact on the Hendrix community. We hope you enjoyed being back on campus, reconnecting with the Hendrix family, and seeing all the wonderful things this special place still has to offer. The rumor was true. Altus plushies are real and have arrived at the Hendrix Spirit Store; obviously, we had to get one.🧡🖤 Did you know Altus was designed by a Hendrix student who is now a proud alumna? Our mascot has some legit Hendrix roots. And it’s cute, right? When is your plushie run? #GetYours #Altus #hendrixcollege by @hendrixalumni

The Hendrix community will gather on Saturday, October 24, to remember and celebrate the life of Dr. Ralph Scott, a beloved alumnus, professor, mentor, and friend. 🧡🖤 A 1973 graduate of Hendrix, Dr. Scott returned to the College as a faculty member in 1979 and dedicated nearly five decades to teaching and mentoring generations of students. He challenged students to think deeply, ask difficult questions, and engage thoughtfully with the world around them. His influence extends far beyond the classroom and lives on in the many people he taught, encouraged, and inspired. We invite former students, alumni, colleagues, and friends to join Dr. Scott’s family and the Hendrix community as we share memories, honor his legacy, and celebrate a life that made a lasting difference. Honoring Indigenous Peoples’ Day | October 12, 2026 Today, the Hendrix community honors the history, resilience, and rich cultural traditions of Indigenous Peoples and communities. Indigenous Peoples’ Day invites us to recognize the enduring contributions, knowledge, and leadership of Indigenous communities while acknowledging the histories, experiences, and ongoing challenges that have shaped their past and present. Honoring Indigenous Peoples means more than recognition. It means listening, learning, respecting, and taking action. May we continue to uplift Indigenous voices, celebrate Indigenous cultures, challenge harmful stereotypes, and honor the sovereignty and self determination of Indigenous Peoples. At Hendrix College, we believe building a welcoming and inclusive community requires a commitment to learning from one another, honoring our differences, and creating spaces where every person’s history and humanity are valued. May we move beyond awareness toward meaningful action, today and every day. #IndigenousPeoplesDay #OfficeOfCommunityAndBelonging #HendrixCollege #CommunityAndBelonging #IndigenousVoices #LearnRespectUplift by @hendrixalumni

What happens when nature is treated as a commodity? Sophie Gray ’28 invites us to consider that question through “Commodification of Nature,” a new art exhibition she curated in collaboration with the Windgate Museum of Art and the Marshall T. Steel Center for the Study of Religion and Philosophy. Bringing together work by eight artists, the exhibition explores how the monetization of nature can reshape our relationship with the environment and challenges us to consider more mindful and sustainable ways of relating to the natural world. The exhibition is currently on display in Ellis Hall, with an opening reception Friday, October 9, from 4–5 p.m. Read more about it at the 🔗 in bio. by @hendrixalumni
