Rome World Cup + touristing 🙌

Relieved that the body could turn things around within a week and produce a decent result in Rome, finishing 22nd in a crazy WC field

Really special to have faces from home watching me race and to spend time seeing the sights with

Season’s not finished yet 🔒 by @henrymcmecking

U23 World Champs - 28th. Always a privilege to represent New Zealand at a World Championships 🌿

An okay swim, a bike that burnt all my matches, and a tough 10km run with nothing left in the legs. The noise from the crowd made the suffering a little easier 🙏

A difficult result to come to terms with, but I’m proud of how I’ve navigated through some challenges, and still came away with 28th in the world. It’s always tough to be on a start line when you know you’re not where you normally would be, but still managing to race to the best of what I had on the day is all I could ask for

Lovely to be home for 7 weeks of winter but business is calling in Europe again ☎️

Spent some time in Edinburgh and have now returned to Banyoles🇪🇸 to finish off the build towards U23 World Champs in a couple weeks

After catching a bug at home, then ending up with a chest infection (Second time on antibiotics in Europe this year 😵‍💫), I had to give the Conti Cup in Derry a miss. The extra family time was a bonus though 🐮

But, the show must go on and I’m looking forward to giving worlds my best crack 🐎 by @henrymcmecking

Back home 🇳🇿 and getting amongst some domestic racing. Great fun ripping around North Hagley in the mud. 5th place @athleticsnz XC nationals 🤝

P41 in my debut World Series at the most iconic stop on the circuit 🙌🇩🇪

A dream to make my debut in Hamburg and play a part in a race that is so synonymous with triathlon 🤯

Really enjoyed the race and the crazy atmosphere, but coming away from it with plenty of learnings and the confidence to know I’m capable of more at this level

World Series debut in Hamburg today 😎

Privileged to be representing New Zealand at the highest level in triathlon 🌿 by @henrymcmecking

Had a frustrating time on the sidelines in Quiberon🇫🇷 this week, plus a few challenges in Banyoles.

After cutting my foot on glass and missing out on a week of running, I knew the buildup hadn’t been ideal, but I was pumped to give it a crack at my first World Series and see how I went against the best guys in the world.

Unfortunately, race week brought an infection in my throat, leaving me unable to swallow food in the days leading to race day. After consulting my medical team, the decision was made for me to pull out. Grateful for the people I have around me to take the weight of the decision off my shoulders 🙏. Quiberon turned out to be quite nice once I was out of my hotel room!

Watching the racing was tough, but only made me hungrier to get out there and race on the WTCS stage. Heading into Tiszaújváros🇭🇺 World Cup this weekend with maybe not the best lead in, but a whole lot of motivation to give it my best shot 🤝 by @henrymcmecking

Week in Osaka done. P8 for me in the race

A sub-par swim and not really feeling myself on the run left me out of the fight for the medals. Looking forward to getting to Banyoles 🇪🇸 and laying down some solid mahi so I can come out firing for my first World Series (🫨) in Quiberon 🇫🇷 in a few weeks!
