Belief is what keeps you going at 2am when it would be so much easier to just stop.

In this clip from Toy Business Unboxed Ep. 172 with Andrew Marriott and Thane Strickland, the advice comes from years of building Herdvana together:

👉 You have to believe in what you're bringing to the table. That belief is the only thing that carries you through.

The trap most game designers and founders fall into? Mistaking early excitement for deep conviction, then running out of fuel the moment things get hard.

✔️ There will be multiple moments where stopping feels like the easiest and most reasonable option
✔️ The only thing that keeps a long-term project alive is genuinely believing you have something worth finishing
✔️ If you are building with a partner, you both have to be all in, half-committed co-founders don't survive the hard seasons

Because building a game company is a long game. The market won't validate you early, the timeline will stretch longer than expected, and the easy exits will present themselves often.

The ones who make it aren't the most talented. They're the ones who sat across from each other and said yes, we're in, no matter what.
