Santa Ynez Valley farmland is green again! by @heritagefarmlandexperiences

Spooky farm scapes. Happy Halloween from Heritage Farmland Touring Co.! 🎃🍁🍂 by @heritagefarmlandexperiences

One of my favorite things leading tour experiences is watching guests discover something new about agriculture!

Today, I had the pleasure of hosting a young couple visiting from Riverside, California, for a beautiful day exploring the Santa Ynez Valley.
At Ballard Walnut Grove, they were surprised to learn that walnuts actually grow inside green husks on trees!
Next, we headed into the hills for an up-close encounter with beautiful Bonsmara cattle, surrounded by spectacular ranch land views.

We wrapped up the afternoon with a California farm picnic and olive oil tasting—a delicious way to experience the flavors of our region.
It’s days like these that remind me why I love what I do. Connecting people to the land, the animals, and the farmers who make our region so special.

Home in Los Alamos with a full heart and so many wonderful photos! 🌿🇬🇧🇫🇷
My Heritage Farmland & Flavors tours of the Cotswolds and Provence were a joy to host. I’m still reminiscing about the farms we visited, the food we shared, and how lovely it was to spend time with my travelers in the English and French countryside.
A few favorite memories: our carriage ride with Darren and holding sheep at Black Lion Vodka in the Cotswolds, followed by truffle tasting, our visit to Châteauneuf-du-Pape, and our beautiful stay at La Verrière in Provence. I think we all could have stayed there a little longer! 😊
Growing up on a dairy farm gave me a lifelong love of agriculture. Getting to share that love—and introduce travelers to the people, places, and flavors behind it—is why I do this.
Thank you to my wonderful travelers and the farmers, guides, and hosts who welcomed us so warmly. Two successful trips and so many memories I’ll treasure.
Sharing a few of my favorite photos here, although choosing just a few was no easy task!
My 2027 tours will be announced soon. I’m already looking forward to our next adventure. 💚

Happy National Charcuterie Day! 🧀🍯
Every Heritage Farmland Experience ends with a beautiful board celebrating the flavors of the Santa Ynez Valley—locally smoked tri-tip and chicken, local artisan cheeses, honey from Las Cumbres Ranch, and walnuts from Ballard Walnut Grove.
It’s more than a charcuterie board—it’s a taste of our local farmland, the people who care for it, and the delicious foods produced here.

Three generations, one beautiful day on the farm. 🤎🐐🐖🐑
From exploring a historic farmstead and meeting all the animals to picking fresh berries together, this was one of those days we’ll treasure for years to come. There’s something extra special about making memories that span generations—Grandma, parents, and son, side by side, enjoying the simple joys of farm life. 🫐🌿

A day full of family, laughter, sweet fruit, furry friends, and sweet memories. ❤️

You never know what you’re going to see on a Heritage Farmland & Flavors of the Santa Ynez Valley experience.
Just look at this stunning Appaloosa wild mustang and the herd peacefully grazing beneath the magnificent oak trees at Las Cumbres Ranch.
Our guests visiting from Los Angeles were absolutely blown away by the chance to see horses and cattle roaming across this beautiful working ranch landscape. Moments like this can’t be staged—and that’s exactly what makes each experience so special.
Every day on the ranch is a little different. You never quite know what might be waiting around the next bend. 🤎
Come experience the unexpected side of the Santa Ynez Valley.

Some little hearts just have a special way with animals. 🐐💕✨

Today, I had the sweetest 3-year-old little girl and her family on tour, and it was so clear from the moment she arrived that she had a special connection with the animals. The way she approached them—with so much gentleness, curiosity, and love—was truly something special to see. 🥹🐐

Watching her feed this sweet goat was one of those little moments that makes a day unforgettable. She may only be three, but she already has such a beautiful way with animals. ❤️

Thank you to her family for sharing this special moment with me today. I hope she always keeps that gentle heart and love for animals. 🌿🐾

There is something so rewarding about sharing the Santa Ynez Valley with guests who are genuinely curious about where their food comes from. ❤️

This wonderful couple traveled from Phoenix, Arizona and, while staying at @fessparkerwinecountryinn joined our Heritage Farmland & Flavors of the Santa Ynez Valley experience.

Together, we followed the incredible journey of a walnut—from the orchard to the table—then cracked fresh walnuts straight from the grove and tasted the difference for ourselves. We visited a historic farmstead where we were greeted by the sweetest newborn piglets, playful goats, and curious sheep. Then it was off to pick the juiciest, most delicious blackberries before relaxing over a gourmet farm picnic featuring smoked chicken, artisan cheeses, seasonal fruit, and other locally sourced treats.

My favorite moment? As we wrapped up the day, they smiled and said, “We’ll never look at a walnut the same way again.” 🌰

Comments like that remind me why I love what I do. It’s a privilege to connect visitors with the farmers, ranchers, and agricultural heritage that make the Santa Ynez Valley such a special place.

The things you see in a park on a Friday afternoon in Los Alamos, CA. Yeehaw! by @heritagefarmlandexperiences

There's something special about meeting families who are passionate about where their food comes from. 🌱🐄
This wonderful family of four visited us from Fort Lauderdale with two curious little explorers under the age of seven. As a registered dietitian, Mom wanted her children to see firsthand how healthy, locally grown food is produced—from colorful fruits and vegetables to responsibly raised beef @lascumbresranch
Together, we wandered through beautiful farms, visited a walnut grove @ballard.walnut.grove , a working cattle ranch, met the people behind the food, and discovered that the journey from pasture and field to plate can be just as exciting as it is delicious. Watching young minds light up with questions and wonder is one of the greatest rewards of what I do.
The next generation of healthy eaters is already growing. ❤️🌾
