This may be TMI, but the only reason I was able to get diagnosed with endometriosis was because I watched a reel that validated my concerns and gave me the push I needed to get better quality care. So here I am, being vulnerable af, hoping this comes across the right woman’s page that might also be going through something similar, but too embarrassed to say what you’re experiencing out loud like I used to be.

I’m here to say that you’re not crazy for being concerned! And if you’ve gone through numerous ultrasounds, CT scans, urinalysis, Pap smears, meds, and lifestyle changes and any provider tells you “I’m not sure, come back when it gets worse”, THAT is your signal to get further opinions! For YEARS I complained about:

• constantly feeling bloated despite changes to my diet and exercise
• excruciating sharp pains from my pelvis to my rectum with bowel movements primarily around my periods
• rare, random instances of painful intercourse without any rational explanation
• every now and then, debilitating sharp abdominal cramps that would knock me on my ass (but this was very rare for me as well)
• diarrhea near the start of my periods and constipation in between periods

If it wasn’t for that reel that validated my concerns, I’d probably still be searching for answers and seeking consults from a GI doctor since a lot of my symptoms seemed GI related and no explanation could be found by my OBGYN. Grateful that isn’t the case today and I’m continuing to heal post op day 13 and get the right answers with a better healthcare team.

Share this reel to help normalize the conversation and help prevent more women from going undiagnosed. Hope this helps you get your answers too! 🫶🏽

Part 2 of our @spartan adventures with our DABs. Raw dawged this race after my endometriosis surgery and not getting medically cleared to work out until just 2 weeks prior to this. Lol. The obstacle courses in that Vegas heat was NO JOKE. Made the course feel 10x longer and having only 3 WARM water stations along the way was BRUTAL. It took a lot out of us to finish, but we did that mf thang and NEVER again will we do the afternoon wave. Lol. But proud of our team for finishing and checking off another thing from our list of “WTF were we thinking” 🫣😂

That wall was unforgiving. LOL. All I can say is thank God he was wearing underwear underneath there 😂

Where my small wedding peoples at?! Our wedding guest list went from 140+ and a whole lot of stress and no honeymoon down to 30 people with a 2 week long honeymoon in Japan. Do I wish that we went through with the big wedding sometimes? The dance floor would have been poppin FOR SURE! But checking off a bucket list place with just the 2 of us enjoying each other’s company was soooooo worth sacrificing a big wedding in my opinion. But kudos to those who can afford both! Haha.

Straight from the wedding archives and I would say “I do” to you in every lifetime. Our wedding day wasn’t the big, extravagant ceremony and reception we originally planned. I put my dress sleeves on the wrong way. My dress tied weird in the back. We didn’t have actual wedding bands, so we used ring pops. Somehow we forgot to pick a wedding cake and ended up with a Chantilly cake from @wholefoods . Our wedding dances didn’t go as planned… But somehow I look back on this day and I still remember my cheeks hurting from smiling so much. I didn’t have those butterflies everyone talks about… I just walked down those stairs straight to you and felt at ease and just so giddy to say you were MY HUSBAND out loud because we had “secretly” been married for a year by then hahahaha! But not really a secret because I later found out we each told a lot of people on the side. LOL. I love you! I love us. I love our little life. Cheers to forever 🥂
