A thankful, overflowing heart. 💛

Salty air in my lungs and thankfulness on my lips.
Sand in my hair and His joy in my heart.

A much needed family beach trip to connect, process and decompress. The timing of this trip turned out to be the best since it followed immediately after a super intense and emotional week for our crew.

His goodness and mercies rang loud like each wave crashing after each other. Life has its darkness and grief in all shapes, seasons and levels.
But one thing I’ve learned with loss and the last two little freak accidents (that seem to be chasing our family) is that He weeps along side us, He comforts, offers peace and joy when we draw close to Him and ALLOW Him to work through our disappointment and broken hearts.

It might be the weather talking, but February is kinda becoming my favorite time of year! by @heyimblythe

This isn’t something I am an expert in, but I do feel the struggle. The struggle to guard my tongue and to steward it wisely. One of the ways I have been pressing into more and more as my girls grow is speaking more life.

Not fear, not labels, not stereotypes.

I get it, mom chats can be a great time to not be alone in your season. We share our struggles in motherhood, but if it turns into just complaining, all negative and “just you wait’s”, where’s the fruit in that?!

What if we ask for prayer in guiding them and encouraging them in who they are becoming instead of complaining about their actions.

BUT, their current season is not their final story.

Our words are seeds, shaping identity and purpose.
Let’s speak into who they are becoming and call out who God is calling them to be.🌱

Speak life. Speak purpose. Speak Jesus.

You don’t have to wish away the cold - here are some creative indoor projects that brighten my day.

1. Photo backdrop - themed balloons, cut out paper shapes for some silly and fun photos.

2. Bake something yummy and colorful for a neighbor.

3. Learn about an animal, insect or plant and design something from it. We recently got a book from the library on butterflies and moths and designed our own moth on a paper outline.

4. Start some seeds indoors for a spring garden.

5. Do a puzzle or write some poetry (silly, simple, long or serious)

6. Make a dining experience for dinner. Play some music, light the candles!
