“feeling analogue in a digital world” — EP listening event 002

an intimate night in a creative space on the Westersingel 9b in Rotterdam. we’re premiering new music by Josimar Gomes before it exists anywhere else. the night will have: sneak previews of the new EP. a visualizer screening directed by @femi_aboh, free drinks & goodies + an afterparty with @beevcollective. all powered by @jblaudio_nl.

this will not be a concert nor a club night. it will be a room full of people trying to unplug and be present.

inside the process — 003 💿 feeling analogue in a digital world will be the name of the upcoming music project. the name came to me as a sustained feeling I had these last few years. the urge to unplug from the digital, the reminiscent feeling or romanticized feeling of a time before the internet came around. I’m from a time (unc bout to show his age) where everything we bought, we owned. no lease, no subscription fees, the only thing we rented was DVD’s. as a kid growing up, physical media was what broadened my imagination, my horizon of taste. I remember going into booklets of my fav CD’s or going through the magazines where fav artists would announce new albums, that was undeniably peak immersion. I truly believe we humans connect the most when we’re offline. in the same room, talking, dreaming, speaking passionately about the same ideas, dreams or aspirations. this project will represent that feeling; being analogue in a digital world. #feelsomething #newmusic #soulmusic #rotterdam #independentartist by @josimarjgomes
