Curious little whale kept me busy for a full week
Kodak Vision3 500T/7219 Film

He’d swim over to investigate, circle around for a bit, then head back to his mum, only to come back and do it all over again. It was pretty amazing watching him get stronger and more curious each day.

Humpback calves are naturally curious as they learn to navigate their surroundings and build the skills they’ll need for their first long migration.

They can gain around 80–100 lbs a day from their mother’s milk, and while adults can stay underwater for 10–15 minutes, calves surface every 3–5 minutes as they build the strength and endurance to keep up with their mums.

Little whale, slowly finding his place in a very big ocean 🐋

M&R — OSAKA, JAPAN 🇯🇵

A wedding captured on Super 8 film.

M&R chose to celebrate their intimate wedding in traditional Japanese attire, surrounded by their closest ones, beauty, atmosphere and quiet energy of Osaka.

Shot on Super 8mm film — with all the grain, movement and imperfections that make film feel alive.

Processed & Scanned in Tokyo by @highland_super8_lab

50 seconds of their day, preserved on film.

A little piece of Japan. A little piece of their story.

「MIA MIA

MIA MIA

“The idea is simple: create a small place where people can slow down, sit together, share stories, and enjoy good company."

At MIA MIA, we hope to create a space where people can breathe, look up, and meet each other with kindness. And every day, we are reminded that some of the most beautiful moments happen or emerge around a shared cup of coffee and conversation.

Our cafe is small but filled with so much love — in the design, the details, the coffee, and most importantly, with the many wonderful people who call this city home or find themselves passing through.

At MIA MIA, we invite you not just to be in the space, but to share the space and time with us!

Cinematographer/DP @thegenreyes visited us for process and 4K scan. The whales she captured underwater are so beautiful it’s hard to put into words. by @highland_super8_lab
