Whenever I mountain bike with my husband and teenage boys I feel like I have to apologize for being slow.

Until one time my husband told me to stop apologizing, because they were just stoked to have me out there with them. It wasn’t about the pace. It was about being together and having fun.

One thing that happens on every group trip I lead is a discussion about the pace, where slower hikers feel like they are holding the group back.

Let’s prioritize having fun and supporting each other regardless of how fast or slow someone hikes so no one feels annoyed waiting for slower hikers or frustrated trying to keep up.👏

Does that sound like a good plan? by @hikelikeawoman

Sharing this ‘cuz it’s trending.

Please tell me I’m not alone. If it’s not a whole number in Garmin Connect then it doesn’t count. 🫣⌚️

Unplugging until Saturday to go climb up and down some big mountains and contemplate the pros and cons of leading a group trip here. Help!

👍🏽 It’s beautiful!
👍🏽 It’s Bhutan!
👍🏽 Uncrowded trails in the Himalayas
👍🏽 Amazing people, culture, history

❓It’s expensive. Really expensive and I always want to mindful of budgets when I’m planning group trips.
❓Travel here is tricky, lots of long flights and overnight layovers. I want to also respect your time off and getting here is no joke.

If I were to plan a trip here for spring 2028 to give you plenty of time to budget and plan would you come? Another other destinations you’d love to visit?

Pro tip: If you hire a guide for the Tour du Mont Blanc, ask them what lunch is. If they say, "We'll pick up a sack lunch from our accommodations," fire them immediately and hire a guide who packs fresh bread, meat, cheese, salad, and fruit every day. You don’t need sack lunch sadness in your life. Amiright? by @hikelikeawoman
