I can't work out my salvation and there's nothing you can do about it.

I know you're already wondering what's wrong with me. Relax, I am fine.

You see, why work for something you can get for free?

Christ died on the cross of Calvary just to save you and I and it has nothing to do with you being good or bad. He cared less about our actions. He died, and that action still gets me till tomorrow.

When my pastor says we should thank God for mercy instead of ask, I used to be confused but staying under his teachings and studying God's word personally; I see reasons why I should thank God for the gift of the cross.

The scripture says while we were yet sinners Christ died. He didn't die because you were not lying, not stealing or staying holy. He demonstrated love for you and I on the cross of Calvary.

So no, I won't work out my salvation because I didn't do anything to deserve it. I don't deserve it, and no matter how much I tried to stay good and holy I still won't deserve it.

So no, I won't.

I'd enjoy the free gift from God to us through Christ and that is Salvation.

‎There is a growing desire among teenagers to make money, and honestly, it is concerning.
‎
‎Many young people are looking for quick ways to make money. You hear things like, “School na scam,” and unfortunately, some begin to explore the wrong means of making money.
‎
‎Young boys rush into “Yahoo” because they want to have money, impress people, and no longer look like “small boys.”
‎
‎Young girls enter relationships with men because of money. At such a young age, they are already asking, “Can you buy me a wig? Can you buy me an iPhone?” And if the answer is no, the relationship suddenly has no future.
‎
‎Please, young ones, especially teenagers, you don't need to rush.
‎
‎You don't need to have everything your mates have right now. You don't need an iPhone, expensive wigs, designer clothes, or a lifestyle you cannot afford just to prove that you are doing well.
‎
‎If your parents are taking care of your financial responsibilities, allow yourself to be a child and focus on becoming better.
‎
‎And if they aren't, learn a skill.
‎
‎Learn something valuable. Develop yourself. Read. Ask questions. Practice. Make mistakes. Get better.
‎
‎Most successful people didn't start with money. They started with knowledge, skills, discipline, and consistency.
‎
‎The Bible says in Prov.22.29 "Observe people who are good at their work--skilled workers are always in demand and admired; they don't take a back seat to anyone." (MSB)
‎
‎Chase growth. Chase knowledge. Chase mastery. Build something that will still be valuable years from now.
‎
‎Shortcuts are not always the answer.
‎
‎Don't be so desperate to make money that you lose your values, your future, or yourself in the process.
‎
‎Go for the right thing. Build the right way. Your time will come. by @hilda_ejike

The Gospel According to Hilda

Before now, I used to get scared whenever they start preaching about repentance. And you know the famous story about that boyfriend and girlfriend who refused to give their lives to Christ... ehen, that one. It brought fear into my heart, and I started to see God in a certain kind of way.

Fast forward to recently, my pastor taught us that the gospel doesn't instill fear. I looked at him deeply and wondered if he knew just how much fear it had instilled in all of us. I paid rapt attention.

He went on to say, "The gospel brings joy..."

In my mind, I was like, "Joy for what? Please sir, it's scary."

That's why, when a lot of you hear a preacher say, "Jesus loves you," you run because you think he wants to cajole you into believing a story that sounds too good to be true.

I continued listening.

Then he said, "The gospel brings joy to the believer because it tells you that Christ paid for your sins, past, present, and future."
What a joy that we, who were once lost, have been reunited with God.

Then it began to make sense.

Jesus loves me and died to save me. That's what the gospel is about. That alone brings me joy that at the end, I can be raptured and for the unbeliever, you can be saved.

I know you already have your misgivings about "how Jesus forgave your sins, past, present, and future." Don't worry, I'm not in a hurry. In my next post, we'll look at it together using the Scriptures. by @hilda_ejike

"Desperate times call for desperate madness!" 😂

This book is funny, relatable, and packed with valuable life lessons.

I love how it keeps you laughing while subtly teaching morals. With it being summer, I honestly think teenagers need some time away from their phones—just like Sheila's mum threatened to take hers. They need to do something beyond scrolling through TikTok. Sheila was sent to a hairdressing salon, and that experience ended up transforming her life. One thing about learning a skill is that it teaches responsibility and builds character.

I laughed so hard while reading because it made me relive my teenage years. From the little shenanigans of not wanting to do house chores, to the obsession with watching movies... or should I talk about the crush? (Love at first sight, anyone?) 😂

I also love how Dr. Des captured almost everything an average teenager goes through. It even reminded me of the days I would try every possible trick just to force myself to read my notebooks while preparing for WAEC. Those parts were so hilarious because they felt so real.

Beyond all the laughter, she used humour to communicate godly values in such a natural way. This is the kind of book that makes you laugh, but also makes you pause and reflect on your own life.

In this time of "Olodo uprising," every child and teenager needs to read this book. Don't let them spend the entire summer holiday glued to their phones. Let them read a book that will entertain them, teach them, and inspire them.

I highly recommend My Hilarious Teenage Apprenticeship by Dr. N. A. Madubuike. by @hilda_ejike

Good Friday ✝️

Just like we're taught in church, the position of a believer is thanksgiving. I am grateful for the gift of the cross. by @hilda_ejike

Please oh, good pictures are important.

Is not right to have pictures where you and your partner is just standing side by side. As in I don't understand. Every wedding photograph must evoke emotion. Let your own not evoke anger abeg.

Anyways what do you think? by @hilda_ejike

I attended a revival programme and just as you know, I was blasting in tongues all through. In tears and screams, I prayed to my father.

I've never felt closer to God before. Sometimes, I'd noticed I was on the ground. The Spirit the Lord was so powerful that the atmosphere was so saturated with the presence of the Holy Spirit. Anyone could feel it.

You couldn't stay under such atmosphere and not PRAY, Kabash, or break the JUGULAR.

Before I went for that programme, my prayer life was crawling and I was aiming to fuel my fire in that programme.

Well, it happened as planned. Five days later, it was like there was really revival in my bones. I prayed back to back. One week down the line I was back to how I was before— crawling.

I would cry and ask God to help me, then He made me understand that I needed to be disciplined.

Going for revival programmes is good and can be helpful sometimes but you have to be disciplined enough to stay in the place of prayer.

Take a look at this scripture: . Matthew 26:41
“Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” The Spirit is ready to pray, and sometimes when you start you don't feel it immediately (the flesh comes in). You stop praying.

Don't stop, keep pushing.

Give yourself grace.

Persevere in the place of prayer even when you're not feeling it.

Don't wait for any programme to fuel your fire, build your altar. Start small. Pray at any chance you get.

You carry God, therefore, you must fellowship with the one you carry. by @hilda_ejike
