POSTS STORIES REELS

October ushers in the spooky season and, for some, seasonal depression. The shorter days and longer nights can also create a vibe perfect for romance. No matter what autumn evokes for you, this month’s new music roundup has it all.

Ryan “Big Esco” Brown returns to “St. Louis on the Air” with hip-hop and R&B selections — genres he’s proud to share from St. Louis-based musicians. This time, he highlights “Baby” by Sway’d, an R&B duo featuring multidisciplinary artist Brock Seals and singer Noah Gerard.

“I love cool music. I love music that the girls love. If the girls don’t love it, it ain’t really worth playing,” Esco said. “St. Louis on the Air” host Elaine Cha added, “I like how [‘Baby’] is speaking to someone. That direct address … there’s something about that and it adds to the intimacy.”

Yuppy’s new single “Grateful Head” leans into post-grunge, illustrating the variety of sounds that are coming out of the St. Louis region.

“This band could be from Portland or Seattle. I think [Yuppy] speaks to the artists in St. Louis’ taste level,” Esco said. “There’s not one way to be a St. Louis artist. And I love the name ‘Yuppy.’ That’s a great name.”

Sights and sounds from Day 2 of @paintlouisofficial. It was so SO hot, but there was enough cloud coverage and breezes to get out and enjoy some art. Listening back and hearing young voices in awe of the scale of the murals was sweet. 🥹 And there’s probably enough me being a full on auntie in the background of some clips 😅
