BORN TO CREATE ✴︎

hiyoctober is back!!! 🪽
I’m so excited (and scared at the same time lol 🪦) for this year, it’s a 10-words list this time!

For those who missed the previous ones, Hiyoctober is a drawtober challenge that takes place throughout October, where we all try to draw together based on these themes!

It started as a personal challenge where I tried to motivate myself to draw my feelings and without realizing it, it became kind of a yearly tradition here :)

✴︎ no pressure to fully complete the list, feel free to take more time or to skip days

✴︎ all mediums are welcome : illustration, 3D, poems, photography etc. No AI

✴︎ feel free to draw any characters you wish and interpret the themes however you’d like

✴︎ you can use #hiyoctober2026 and tag me in so I can reshare your entries on my story

✴︎ have fun everyone !!! <3

#hiyoctober2026 - silver and skin 🩸

yea i originally wanted to paint some ear piercings for this theme but somehow ended up with bear traps idk
again, my own art triggers my lepidophobia, but i love little moths!!
long time no drawing a maid dress, i’ve been missing dressing up with something else than pajamas lately

just me, my cat, and the eternal void ◾️

#hiyoctober2026 - asphalt horizon

i’ve been listening to the audiobook « The City and its Uncertain Walls » by Murakami lately while painting, a recommendation of my friend Greenwalt! this quote is from the book, which gave me some very doomed moments at 6:00am lol
art is also inspired by a pic of a tree growing in an abandoned building in Pripyat
it kinda reminds me of the apartment scene in Girls’ Last Tour!

anyway, we are halfway through hiyoctober!!! thank you and congrats everyone who submitted artwork so far!! only 5 themes left :D

this is a complete rework of an idea i wanted to paint in april, which was supposed to be the yearly birthday art, but never finished it! i felt really discouraged at that moment, so i’m happy to finally post it :)

I had this saved as a draft for three months and never really found the strength to post it again.
A few days ago, I visited him for the first time since he passed, and since he was born on the 17th, maybe this is the right moment to finally post it. I miss you so dearly, my baby nana ❤️‍🩹 by @hiyoponyo
